The Best and Worst of Gov. Jack Markell

It was the Best of Jack. It was the Worst of Jack.
All encompassed in the same week.
The Best of Jack, which should be studied by President Obama, every Democratic governor, and all D legislators, was his calling-out of all the undistinguished Sussex County Rethugs who have been trying to score political points off the travails [...]

Best Wishes to Joe Rogalsky

We at Delaware Liberal received official word last night that Joe Rogalsky will be leaving as Gov. Markell’s press secretary to reconnect with his family and then to take on other challenges. Official in that it came from Joe Rogalsky. I, for one, will miss him.
He made clear that he remains a strong and enthusiastic [...]

State/Walgreen’s Feud Delaying H1N1 Shots?

The document will confirm what should already be obvious. At every level of government, the Rethug strategy is to delay and seek to stop anything of value from moving forward.
They will then [...]

Congratulations All Around for Fisker

The press conference/Pep rally for the announcement that the Boxwood Rd. auto plant has just concluded. We will now refer to the plant as the Fisker plant. I am still in a state of shock. It was a tour de force of Delaware politicos. Huge kudos are in order for Governor Markell for his attention to this issue and for putting together this event. Getting Joe Biden was the perfect touch.

News-Journal: Fisker to Build Hybrid Cars at Boxwood Plant

Andrew Eder, who has been all over this story, reports the good news.
And, lest anyone think that Jack Markell just got lucky, here is what a governor who was actively engaged did:
The company’s decision to use the Boxwood Road factory marks a quick resurrection for the 62-year-old plant, a casualty of GM’s bankruptcy and restructuring [...]
