Letters From Haiti

We all have a desire to help the people of Haiti in any way that we can. Joanne Christian used an already scheduled trip to The Dominican Republic to volunteer at a 20 bed hospital in Santo Domingo that was helping 2,000 Haitian victims. At some point, she decided that she should get some names of these people so that their family will know that they got out, although there is a likelihood that some of the people here have died of their injuries, or soon will. How Successful was the Inaugural Ball?

Well, if you only judged it by how many people showed up it was pretty successful.
If you judged it by how good a time everyone had, it was extremely successful.
If you judged it by the amount of money made for Autism Delaware, Wow!  We will be writing a check to Autism Delaware for $1,711.
I would [...]

11,411 Pounds

That is how much food we sorted today at the Food Bank.  We had 39 adults and a gaggle of children there sorting food, checking expiration dates, building backpacks for other children and all of the tasks associated with moving that much food around.  We built 354 boxes of various foodstuffs and got them ready [...]

Announcing the Delaware Liberal Inaugural Weekend Festivities

We, the writers of Delaware Liberal, were bummed that there seemed to be no way of getting our team down to the Inauguration or to attend one of the prestigious Inaugural Balls in Washington.  So we have decided to celebrate the occasion of the inauguration of Obama/Biden and Markell/Denn right here in Delaware.
Jack Markell has [...]
