Republicans Losing Women Voters

President Obama has emerged with an impressive lead in swing states around the country — thanks to women voters abandoning the GOP in droves, according to a new USA Today/Gallup poll showing President Obama leading among women voters in the top dozen battleground states by a whopping 18 points — greater than the 12-point gender gap he won with in 2008.

Two Experts Say: Not George Zimmerman Crying For Help

A leading expert in the field of forensic voice identification sought to answer that question by analyzing the recordings for the Orlando Sentinel. His result: It was not George Zimmerman who called for help. Every claim Zimmerman has made about what happened that night with Trayvon Martin is now discredited. George Zimmerman needs to be arrested now.

Stand Your Ground Law, Meet The Bar Scene

I am sure almost every woman has a story to tell, here is one of mine…

I was 25 and having drinks with friends at Harpoon Hannah’s (yeah, I know.). A man approached our table and asked me to dance. I thanked him for the offer, but declined. I even offered an excuse, “I’m hanging out with friends tonight. I haven’t seen them in a while, but thank you.” Frankly, my “no, thank you” should have been enough, but I get that approaching a stranger and asking them to dance can be difficult, so I always tried to be kind. Can anyone guess what happened next?

What If Buying A Gun Required The Same Restrictions As Getting An Abortion?

Why don’t gun buyers have to follow the same rules women are forced to follow? Wait 48 hours after applying. View on ultrasound of a body with a bullet in it. Listen to the heartbeat of someone as they die of a gunshot wound. Get a lecture from a surgeon on what it is like to operate on a gunshot wound. After all that, if a person still wants a gun, he or she can buy one. Why should buying a gun be any easier than having an abortion?”

Does George Zimmerman Look “Bloody And Battered?

Ever since the press started reporting on Zimmerman’s injuries I fully expected to see pictures of a bloody nose, a bleeding gash on the back of his head that his attorney said should have required stitches. I expected to see George Zimmerman looking like he was beaten up.

Questions That Need To Be Answered In The Trayvon Martin Case

It wasn’t until Trayvon’s father, Tracy Martin, called to file a missing-persons report on Feb. 27 that police went to his fiancee’s house with pictures of his son’s dead body. News reports have said that Trayvon’s body was tagged as a John Doe. But the “Partial Report Only” that was completed at 3:07 a.m. on Feb. 27 lists Trayvon’s full name, city of birth, address and phone number. How did police get that information? Was Trayvon carrying identification? Did police try to contact that home number?

Katniss Everdeen Is No Bella Swan

Before I get into this allow me to tell everyone what I tell my kids – The book is always better than the movie! That said, I am thrilled with Katniss Everdeen! Katniss is a strong, consistent in her actions, smart hero. You can’t help but root for her. And go ahead and cheer, because Katniss Everdeen won’t let you down. There is no damsel in distress moment, no need to be rescued for stupid, reckless behavior. Not one.

NRO: Women Using Birth Control and Family Planning are Part of a “Suicide Cult”

I normally don’t visit the Crazy Corner (Yes, that is a link to crazy town, so consider yourself warned), but this article exposes the Conservative mindset vividly. Michael Walsh is counting the numbers in a them vs us game and is panicked that his side is losing. That’s really all this article is about – women deciding when to have children is a dangerous thing we need to stop, feminists have secretly formed a suicide pact to wipe out civilization, and the browning of the world population.

It’s Friday Afternoon – Have Purchased Your Hunger Game Tickets Yet?

First, you should know that I’m the most unreasonable mother on the earth.  Why?  I wouldn’t let my 14 year old daughter attend the midnight premiere of the Hunger Games last night.  Now, since everyone went last night she’s stuck going with us on Saturday.
Truthfully, she was disappointed and had trouble understanding why we weren’t [...]

BREAKING: Sanford Police Chief Steps Aside “Temporarily!”

I was going to wait and post this, but then I thought some of you might not be aware of the press conference and may want to watch at 3:30. I will update this post during and after the press conference. If you haven’t heard, yesterday the Sanford City Commission passed a motion of “no confidence” for Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee.

Calls For Sanford Police Chief To Resign Over Trayvon Martin Case

Police chief Bill Lee, of Sanford police, has insisted he carried out a “fair and thorough” investigation of the killing and that he cannot arrest George Zimmerman because he has told police he shot the teenager in self-defence and there was no evidence to contradict his account.

A thorough investigation? Not a chance. No evidence to contradict Zimmerman’s account? Well, if you don’t look for or gather evidence then there won’t be evidence, now will there? Gross incompetence of the Sanford Police would be a generous description at this point. Let’s look at what the Sanford Police didn’t do.

It Appears I’m Not Alone In Not Forgiving Komen

A Komen insider told HuffPost that “employee morale is in the toilet” since Komen leadership made the controversial decision to defund Planned Parenthood, one of the nation’s most prominent women’s health and family planning organizations. The move was led by anti-abortion executive Karen Handel, then Komen’s senior vice president for public policy, who has since resigned.

“Brinker in complete meltdown,” the source wrote to HuffPost. “People want her to resign but she won’t.”

Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law

Police Chief On Trayvon Martin Case Is “Sure” Both, George Zimmerman And Trayvon, Wished They Would Have Done Things Differently

What exactly should Trayvon Martin have done differently? Not walked to the store? Not worn a hoodie?

There is something very, very wrong in Sanford, Florida. And I’m beginning to think what happened to Trayvon Martin is related to how the Sanford Police run their department. I’m beginning to think that George Zimmerman knew, if faced with what happened on February 26th, he’d get off… maybe even get a pat on the back, or a medal. And if he had actually shot and killed a “bad guy” he’d probably be heralded as a hero today. And that is a frightening thought. Far too often stories of a heroic citizen gunman are touted as the reason why guns are good, while stories of gun tragedies are dismissed as isolated incidents that shouldn’t be considered in the equation.

Dead Teenager And No Arrest

I’ve been following this story for the past week, and I’m surprised by how long it’s taken the national media to cover it.

Trayvon Martin was killed in Sanford, Florida last week three weeks ago. He was killed by a Neighborhood Watch member, who followed him for several minutes, and called Sanford 911 to report a person acting suspiciously. That person was a 140lb African American teenager who was in the gated community visiting his father and step mother. When he called 911, the Neighborhood Watch member, George Zimmerman, was told not to approach or engage the person he was following. Instead, he killed Trayvon Martin with a handgun. Trayvon had a can of soda and a bag of skittles. You get to guess which ethnic group George Zimmerman is NOT a member of.
