What Rick Jensen WIll Be Yammering About Today
First of all, DON’T listen to Rick Jensen. If you happen to be walking by a radio this afternoon though and it is still on and playing because whoever was listening to AL forgot to turn it off, here is what you’ll hear today.

The Republicans are stuck, so I don’t think Palin is going anywhere. However, the CBS interview that will be out tomorrow will be even more horrible than the previous horrible clips.
So it behooves us to formulate odds and begin taking bets. To that end…
Palin to “spend more time with family” odds are four-to-one against. In other [...]
Ha Ha Funny
You may have seen this at kos. A Fox TV “journalists” is doing a story about how split the vote is in PA and…well just watch.
I love the last bit.
QOD
Can we get a better metric of the national’s economic health than the Dow Jones Industrial Average?
BTW – DJIA up 400 points as a write this.
Special BTW to Kavips – You might want to cancel that water purification system you have on order.
RNC ad, was cut, sent out before package failed
Ben Smith at Politico reports that Republicans viewed the whole bail out as a way to set up Demcorats from the get go.
The Republican National Committee’s new advertisement critical of the the Wall Street “bailout” was produced and sent to television stations in key states before the package failed, officials at two stations [...]
Brazen Mike Castle Lie Tops Del State News
Mike Castle tries to put lipstick on the non-compromise bail out bill that protected executive golden parachute contract for the very executives who gamed the financial markets.
The Lie:
“Rep. Castle said the bill as presented would not have included rich serverence packages so-called “golden parachutes” for Wall Street cororate executives.”
That is a flat out lie. [...]
New Republican Leader, Eric Cantor, Is a Wussie
Cantor, who has rested control of the GOP from George Bush, John McCain and John Boner, would have had the house GOP members vote for the bail out, but they got mad at Nancy Pelosi.

Can we please go back to the progressive economics that began under FDR and created the 50 year long economic expansion, not to mention the middle class as we know it?
It seems to me that a bail out bill that puts back in a truly progressive tax income tax code (bye bye loop holes for [...]
22nd District Update From Rebecca
I thought I’d pass this along.
Hey Jason,
So far I’ve received $1,250 dollars from DelawareLiberal bloggers! What an amazing group of people. How lucky I am to be a part of that community. Thank you so very much, this will go a long way toward paying for my newspaper ads.
FYI, my opponent [...]
29Sep2008 | jason330 | 4 comments | ContinuedUPDATED: Kavips is taking dumbass pills or something
Some people are so used to blaming everything on Democrats that they just can’t not blame Democrats.
The fact of the matter is this bill sucked. It basically turned Paulson into the economic King of America, just like the first version. Only it did it on an installment plan and pretended to protect taxpeyers.
But the [...]
Denn: “(Copeland) the insurance industry’s chief water-carrier”
Matt Denn, who during his time as Insurance Commissioner had a front row seat to all of Copeland’s anti-consumer/pro-insurance industry votes in Senate, hit back at Charles Lamot Dupont Copeland’s smears today and did not pull any punches, calling Copeland “the insurance industry’s chief water-carrier in Dover” for voting against consumer protects and in line [...]

I guess Dot’s trailer park ethics don’t include the concept of “conflict of interest.”
Irritation began inside the Fire Hall near the end of the forum. Dixie Boucher, who moderated the debate, closed out the question-and-answer session. Boucher said she received questions referring to Atkins’ past behavior, but refused to read them because she wanted [...]

First off, Delawaretalkradio.com
- Have you listened to Delawaretalradio yet? Do you think you’ll be a regular listener?
I can’t listen much at work, so that limits it for me. Also, I like what I’ve heard of Mike Mathews show, but I don’t like the burping. Call me a prude, but I’m old school [...]
The Word of the Week is Eloquence
On the evening of April 4, 1968, as the tragedy of the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King began to filter out over a pre-internet nation, an extraordinary moment in U.S. political history occurred as Robert F. Kennedy, broke the news of King’s death to a large gathering of African Americans in Indianapolis, Indiana.
historyplace.com puts it, [...]
Pre-Debate Predictions Thread
Expectations for McCain have to be pretty low given his horrible, terrible week. Expectations for Obama, of course, are always sky high. So how does it play out?
I say Obama plays it tight. He does not want to make a mistake as the McCain campaign implodes on its own. Obama will [...]
The All Knowing, All Seeing John McCain Campaign
Direct pickup from a Devil’s Tower Diary at Kos:
Barack Obama might as well go back to his suspiciously unsuspended campaign, because John McCain has already won tonight’s debate.
“McCain Wins Debate!” declares the ad which features a headshot of a smiling McCain with an American flag background. Another ad spotted by our eagle-eyed observer featured a [...]

Imagine George Bush cancels the 2008 elections for “security” reasons. Would Republicans put down their partisanship to join Democrats and independents in protesting that action through a general strike?

Karen comes out swinging.
“Our country is entering the biggest financial crisis in our history,” she said. “Mike Castle has been in Congress for 16 years. During twelve of those years, Republicans have been in charge. As a senior member of the Financial Services Committee, he shares responsibility for the lack of oversight of Wall Street.”
“Reviewing [...]
Tom Carper: No Comment on Blocking Carney
Even though Tom Carper’s Minister of Communications, Bette Phelan, probably hates my guts, and even though I, likewise, hold her boss in utter contempt, and even though I’m barely a member of the press, allowing all of that – it is her job her job to respond to me right?
Even if I wasn’t [...]
Jack Markell’s Response To Bill Lee’s Crazy Ass Smear
Two things strike me about this response.
1) It is so matter of fact and straight forward that Bill Lee has to be feeling pretty stupid right about now. The hallmark of GOP smears are that they are idiotic, this response call Lee’s smear out for all it’s stupidity.
2) It got to me [...]
Mike Castle Travesty
Yesterday…
Rep. Mike Castle, R-Delaware, voted against the measure called the “Credit Cardholders’ Bill of Rights.” It would require card companies to provide more notice of rate increases and more time to pay bills. It would also allow companies to impose only three consecutive fees for exceeding credit limits.
I’m sure he has a great explaination for [...]
