Open Thread – Proof is not proof

Filed in National by on January 18, 2019

Rudy Giuliani now allows that there is a smoking gun. It is still warm to the touch, but now the President’s TV lawyer says that proof is not proof. (A call back to his prior genius legal defense of the President, “truth isn’t truth”).

With all the evidence of crimes piling up, I guess the GOP controlled Senate has no choice but to start reading up on holding an impeachment trial…right?

A potentially momentous Thursday BuzzFeed report provided the clearest-cut indication yet that President Trump may have violated federal law. Two federal law enforcement sources told the publication that Trump personally directed his former attorney, Michael Cohen, to lie to Congress about matters related to the Russia investigation—an order that Trump’s own attorney general nominee believes would constitute obstruction of justice.

Nah, the Turtle has not yet begun to stall endlessly, he knows the senate and several dozens ways to stop it dead in it’s tracks. He also has no conscience and feels no shame in not doing what is needed and right for the nation and is surrounded by more of the same.

  2. delacrat says:

Articles of impeachment against George W Bush never got past Speaker Pelosi for far, far more serious matters than this, so there’s little reason to think she’s interested this time.

  3. Alby says:

“For far, far more serious matters than this…”

Your opinion, and a not-very-bright one. We have gone to war under false pretenses before. We have not had a president elected with the help of foreign powers before.

See how easy it is to tell the difference when you’re not a shill for Russia?

    • delacrat says:

Not even butthurt ClintonDems, believe that “the help of foreign powers” played a significant role in electing Trump.

      • Alby says:

We don’t know how much of a role it played, and that’s not the point. Do you understand what the point is? If so, prove it.

Clinging to a lie and fake news like a child. Again, most contributors on here probably have mental disorders. Get a life and get a job. You’ll feel so much better about yourself and will stop obsessing.

    • RE Vanella says:

Hahaha. Fuck you, dude. Anonymously telling people you don’t know they have mental disorders!

      Very legal. Very cool.

(Going out in the street today with my people. Weather should be fun.)

    • Alby says:

The desperate little rats got nothin’. It’s going to be so much fun to round them all up and send them to tent cities in Texas.

    • Alby says:

People are going to notice that you’re projecting here. The “fake news” is that Trump is anything but a criminal and a traitor, and you’re the one clinging to it. Chump.

      • Anon says:

Two comments back to back. Proves my point. You’re obsessed in a way that is unhealthy. Fantasies of rounding people up and putting them in camps sounds about right for the far left.

        • Alby says:

You’ll be crying for your mommy. Just like you’re crying now. Poor baby.

If you want more substantive critiques of your stupidity, you’ll have to do more than call us names. When you do that we just call you names back.

And my fantasies aren’t about locking you up. They’re about the death of not only you but of your entire ethos. Buh-bye.

        • RE Vanella says:

I don’t have an authoritarian bone in my body. But when this pissant accuses me, it’s does somehow make the gulag appealing.

          • Alby says:

Nobody is really going to do any such thing. But I’m trying to communicate on his level.

Both he and his ethos will die no matter what he does or I do. If the race is to survive, it must adopt communal action. Our current age of fetishizing individual liberty is like the Counter-Reformation, a reaction against a new way forward for a greater number of people that upsets the minority holding power.

They have two choices, adapt to this or die. They’d rather die, it seems, and are threatening to take the whole species down with them. Our job is to stop them.

  5. Arthur says:

Everyone is up in arms as to “Trumps lies.” What I think is more frightening is that I don’t think he believes he is lying. I think that he believes everything he says is true. He could tell you his name is George Washington and he truly believes it

  6. RE Vanella says:

I was proud to march today with my wife and my sisters, Kerri Harris, Nina Turner & Sybrina Fulton (mother of Trayvon Martin).

    Great spirit today.

Likely goes without saying, but we will never stop. Not ever. Solidarity, forever.

  7. RE Vanella says:

    Delaware fucking shout out.

Call ’em out as you seem ’em.
