Rochester, Coons, Carper utterly USELESS as “blue flu” hits TSA & officers call out sick while shutdown stretches on

Filed in National by on January 5, 2019

Delaware’s congressional delegation is an absolute disgrace. There has been no action whatsoever. No movement to hold Republicans accountable for the mess that the GOP controlled Senate has created. What the holy fuck are they doing? Carper…ok. He is on death’s doorstep. Rochester, a single statement laying blame equally at the feet of Democrats and Republicans who simply need to “cooperate”  from December 22nd. 14 Days later?  Nothing. Maybe her silence is a blessing since she thinks Democrats are equally culpable.

Coons’ the same old bullshit. He, no doubt, thinks he is working some behind the scenes magic by telling Republican buddies that right-thinking Democrats are ready to comply with whatever demands they have.

What on earth do they think they were sent to Washington to do? Sit around and wait for McConnell to allow them to speak up on behalf of the Delawareans who sent them to Washington? It is disgusting.

In what one official dubbed the “blue flu,” hundreds of blue-uniformed TSA officials have been calling out sick in recent days as the shutdown stretches on and their salaries go unpaid.

According to a Friday CNN report, the mass call-outs have hit New York’s JFK, Texas’ Dallas-Fort Worth and North Carolina’s Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham airports.

The problem will reportedly only worsen as the shutdown drags on and more paychecks are missed. And as workers call out to take care of children or find other sources of employment, remaining airport officials will have to make some serious decisions: long lines and wait times, or less security?

LBR entered Congress with a lot of fanfare but appears to be charting a course similar to Coons and Carper in its bland uselessness.

Democrats everywhere need to demonize McConnell. I want to see Coons on the Sunday news shows DEMANDING that McConnell bring the House funding bills to the floor. I don’t want to hear a peep out of him about how more Democratic compromise is needed.

Carper? Pfftt. And Rochester will do nothing unless Carper says it’s OK.

FTN looks to be loaded with D backbenchers I’m not familiar with. This is their opportunity to shine.

I hope they read my: This is what every Democrat should say about impeachment

There is a 100% chance that they will be asked about it.

LBR, for me is one of the most disappointing picks we made as democrats. Second of course to electing Kathy Mcguinnes as Auditor.

We had a shot to send Bryan Townsend, a true progressive democrat to DC and the rank and file Delaware Dems propped up another pro business sort of democrat candidate. I’m convinced Delaware would benefit the same as we are today if we didn’t have anyone representing us in the house.

    • RE Vanella says:

She does make Townsend look good, which is something. I’d quibble with adjective ‘true’ though.

  6. Delaawaredude says:

Does anyone know what carney lackey LBR actually does in Congress? She has really disappointed and is content doing nothing.

    • RE Vanella says:

She’s the female Carney. The only hope is she starts the get embarrassed by her colleagues. I’m not sangiune. No money in it for her.

  7. Annoymous says:

LBR was the result of progressives getting sucked into identity politics. Although Townsend was by the far the better candidate I remember hearing “oh another white guy?” Well how’s that working out for you with LBR?
That said Sean Barney was the real sabatage candidate and will be rembered when he tries to re enter the arena

    • Meh. Barney was the Third Way guy. Carper stayed out of the primary (at least officially) b/c he said he couldn’t choose between ‘my children’. Which at one time also included state rep, former Carper staffer, and newly-minted lobbyist Bryon Short.

It was LBR’s ability to go on TV and to discuss how she would be the first ‘woman of color’ to be elected to Congress from Delaware that got her elected.

The question was, and remains, will that be enough? For her, so far yes. For the rest of us, not so much.

    • RE Vanella says:

      There’s truth in this.
