Chris Coons Must Disassociate Himself From the National “Prayer” Breakfast

Filed in National by on December 14, 2018

In 1953, President Dwight Eisenhower began the tradition of the National Prayer Breakfast.  Whatever benign purpose it was founded to serve, it has morphed into something far from benign.

It is now a nexus of anti-American criminal activity.   A nexus of anti-American criminal activity that Senator Chris Coons Co-Chairs.

Now that Maria Butina has pled guilty in federal court to infiltrating US political circles in order to influence US relations, and that the National Prayer Breakfast was a major facilitator in that infiltration scheme  – it is beyond question that the leadership of the National Prayer Breakfast is implicated in the unfolding criminal conspiracy.

In fact, the Butina’s guilty plea indicates that the National Prayer Breakfast was the culmination of her now-admitted multiyear effort to forge inroads into the U.S. conservative movement, including the National Rifle Association.

And yet Chris Coons continues to lend his name and prestige to this gathering of spies and domestic enemies of the Republic such as the board of the National Rifle Association.

It is likely that he was a witless dupe.  When he met and took photos with Butina at the National Prayer Breakfast, he had no idea that she was working for the Kremlin to undermine America.  But he can’t hide behind naivete going forward.

He needs to step down.

He was just hoping to get some.
