Announcing an opportunity

In collaboration with, Tino G the sound guru and an unnamed patron operating in deep undercover behind enemy lines, I will be producing a podcast for you folks.

Temporarily called In the Belly of the Beast, an episode will drop once a week beginning in the New Year. Political talk mostly, also some cultural and local art stuff. Conservation will focus on a wide variety of progressive and leftist commentators and activists. The goal is really to support solidarity in this state among all groups standing against the fascist and the corporate and the dumb. (If you think we’ll be trashing you personally by name, you’re right. We will be doing that.)

As this is a DIY/Gonzo type effort I wanted to extend a request should someone want to get involved in this venture.

If you know or are interested in learning Garage Band / Logic Pro X and you have 2 or 3 hours a week to fool around with some audio, send your contact info to the website tip line.

If you’re looking for a creative outlet and/or looking to spend some time doing something in furtherance of our good and just cause this may be a cool opportunity.

Two episodes are already in the can.

El Som and I discuss election results and the state of state politics.
Joshua W of Delaware United and most recently the Don Allan campaign talks about his background, his current activism and the well-known history of our public confrontation!

Other early episodes will include renowned local youth activist Coby Owens and state organizer for the Center for Popular Democracy and candidate for US Senate Kerri Evelyn Harris. I’m also planning an episode specifically on the Vaughn Prison uprising (and associated topics) with the News Journal reporter who covered the trial, Xerxes Wilson. Plus, your favorite DE political broadcaster, Alby M, may be back at in your earholes..

I can promise you this content will be quality and interesting. I have a longer term plan as well so I hope you all follow the work. I sincerely believe this is the beginning of something that’s going to go somewhere. Getting in on the ground floor might bring big bragging rights down the line. For real.

Talk soon. Left is best…. RE Vanella

I wish I could be more involved with this, but I’m looking forward to being involved as an avid listener.

  2. RE Vanella says:

    Right on.

  3. Joshua W says:

REV someday you’re going to get my name right. Not today obviously, but someday, and I’ll be very happy when you do.

  4. RE Vanella says:

    God damnit!

No idea how I did that again. I know how I did it the first time, because we were talking about Jason Scott right before you came in. I could actually blame Jason here since he posted it. Even funnier is I always get your last name right.

    You need a nickname.

Joking aside, my apologies. That’s embarrassing.

Jason. Please change Jason to Joshua above. I suck.

  6. Delaware Dem says:

RE Vanella, I tried to email you in response to your invitation, but it bounced back. I emailed Jason just now to get your correct email address.

    • RE Vanella says:

Yes, folks. Here’s another cool one we’re putting on the calendar.

Sexist Bernie Bro (yours truly) v. Neoliberal Hill Shill (Delaware Dem)

This will be an instant classic. It’s happening.

  7. Joshua W says:

Don’t sweat it too much REV, I’ve always suffered from GWDN (generic white dude name). You’re not the first person, nor will you likely be the last, to get my name wrong.

  8. darkknight says:

Will TheNewDeal be involved? Haven’t heard from him in a while.

  9. RE Vanella says:

No idea who that is. So, no, I guess …

  10. mouse says:

I could troll talk radio stations. I rather enjoy doing that too.
