Stanley Dural, aka ‘Buckwheat Zydeco’, was one of the nicest people to ever grace the Arden Gild Hall stage. During his first appearance back in 2005, he invited all the kids in the audience (there were a lot, this being a family-friendly show) up on stage, where he got them to dance and sing along with Hank Williams’ ‘Hey Good Lookin’. My daughters and all of their friends went up there, and they’ve never forgotten that.  The reason? He told me that his purpose at that stage of his life was to make sure that the wonderful musical legacy of zydeco got handed down from generation to generation.  He enthralled adults and children alike during his three visits to Arden.

While he played accordion in the band, he first cut his teeth on the Hammond B-3 playing with Clifton Chenier.  Here he is from 2011, when he performed his encore on a sawed-off B-3:
