Song Of The Day: Nov. 8, 2018

I was out running errands yesterday, and XPN was playing a whole bunch of Joni Mitchell songs in a row.  I was afraid that she had passed away, and listened to the songs in that context. I actually became depressed. Thankfully, they were celebrating her 75th birthday, and I was listening to side 2 of Blue, one of her unassailable masterpieces.  I’ve found an autumnal/winteriness in many of her songs, and I’m especially drawn to them this time of year.  This album-closer from Blue kills me every time.  A great character study imbued with tremendous empathy:
