Coons’ Version of Bipartisan Comity is Still a HUGE Load of Bullshit

Filed in National by on October 2, 2018

Jack Markell is full of it as well. His 760,000 word editorial never addresses the fact that Coons’ version of bipartisan comity is a sham because it will never be reciprocated by Republicans who haven’t been on an Adventure Holiday to Africa with Coons, and who are ALSO not running for anything.

While he allows early on that nothing will probably come of Coons’ recent triumph of bipartisan comity, he then drones on for what seems like hours without ever mentioning that the modern GOP is the problem. They have NOBODY (that isn’t named Flake) interested in Coons style bipartisan comity. “Potemkin Village” actually over-states how legitimate Coons style bipartisan comity is.

No convinced? Look up who else was on that Adventure Holiday with Coons and see how they vote on Kavanaugh. Two things need to be in place for Coons style bipartisan comity to work. The cross-the-aisle buddy has to be NOT RUNNING FOR ANYTHING, and must have been on an Adventure Holiday with Coons.

And another thing… It was those nasty partisan liberal bloggers turning out for you in your primary against Carney that put you over the top, so how ’bout them apples?

  2. donviti says:

CEO’s and Executives love his brand of “I’m practically a republican”

  3. RE Vanella says:

    This is good.

“Senator Coons’ willingness to focus on bipartisanship is unfortunately very much out of favor in the current political environment. He has become, as a News Journal columnist put it, a ‘favorite punching bag of Delaware’s rambunctious liberal blogs.’”

It’s a little early to be taking a fucking victory lap. Plus, I’m not a liberal. I’m a leftist.

  4. RE Vanella says:

Since they obviously follow what we say. Let me point this out.

“The long-admired ‘Delaware Way,’ where people put aside party to work for the common good…”

Common good? Common… Fuck you, Jack. From me directly to you, pal. From public private partnerships, black box LLCs, easy corporate climate, corporate real estate, Wilmington gentrification… and he says “common”.

Choke on my scrote, you motherfucker. I hope you crash you bike.

  5. jason330 says:

Well I looked up what Republicans went on the Adventure Holiday and could then potentially take part in Coon’s bipartisan comity (provided they decided to not run for anything).

    The number is zero.

The GOP doesn’t give a fuck about Africa.
The GOP doesn’t give a fuck about Coon’s bipartisan comity
The GOP doesn’t give a fuck about anything except beating up on Democrats.

  6. AQC says:

Markell turned out to be one of my most disappointing politicians. And, he is mean spirited and spiteful behind the curtain. I don’t hope he crashes his bike but I wish he’d shut the fuck up and go away.

  7. puck says:

A crushing defeat in the midterms might revive Republican interest in bipartisan comity, at least temporarily.

“I am enormously frustrated at how little progress we are making” on many issues, says Sen. Chris Coons at an event held by The Atlantic Festival. He says he talked with his wife about not running in 2020 because of frustration but does plan to seek another term.

Keep up the pressure. He may change his mind.

  9. jason330 says:

Percent chance of Coons running in 2020 in spite of “frustration” borne of bipartisan comity being complete bullshit: 100%

  10. writeinkerri says:

If Kerri was a senator right now, she would have fixed this mess, talked to Brett about withdrawing his nomination, and convinced him to do so in addition to publicly apologizing for his drunken past and behavior towards women.

Its amateur hour in DC right now, and we need to get Kerri to DC. She is a proven leader with the brains and the power to whip rethugs into shape.

Lets write her in this November! She would get someone on the court we can depend on and is one of us.

    • RE Vanella says:

It’s a beautiful sentiment. But strategically I don’t think it’s the best plan.

    • Bane says:

Stop…. This is has to be sarcasm. Kerri would have convinced Brett to withdraw? She couldn’t even convince the county she lives in to vote for her.

    • ben says:

If she had won the primary, she still wouldn’t be a senator right now… you know that, right?
However, you hint at the broad point of… WHERE THE FUCK IS TOM CARPER!?!?! The BS show Coons is putting on was written by that Kavanaugh-confirming carpetbagger and he is nowhere to be found.
      I’m voting Green for senator.

      • Bane says:

To be fair, he isn’t on the Judiciary Committee. Senators who are not on the committee rarely get involved until that process ends

    • Alby says:

Write-in votes are now thrown out in Delaware’s highly limited version of democracy.

  11. puck says:

I saved Carper’s campaign emails and just scrolled through them. Before the primary he was all about fighting Kavanaugh. Even got Cory Booker to say Carper was fighting to keep Kavanaugh off the Court. Since the primary though Carper is laying low on Kavanaugh. I guess with Carper’s record of actually voting for Kavanaugh and his own spousal assault admission, there’s not much he could contribute to the fight. At least he has pledged to vote No.

    • ben says:

i think a “yes i voted to confirm this shithead, but W clearly hid parts of his past and knowing what I know now, i see that vote was a mistake” is too much for ol tommy.

    • jason330 says:

I remember that robbery. I think it would have been reported out if Markell was one of the players. And even if he was, I doubt it would have been regarded as very scandelous.

      • Kevin, I love your blog. You perform a genuine service.

However, the robbery is the only part of this story that’s of interest. I suspect that there are probably at least 100 poker games every night in Delaware that don’t take place in a casino. While it may or may not technically be a crime, who the bleep gives a shit about enforcing it? I can almost guarantee you that cops and members of the Department of Justice engage in such games.

Truth be told, I think I’d be more likely to vote for Carney if he engaged in something/anything even slightly illicit. His blinkered vision and disinterest are his fatal flaws.
