As expected more accusers are coming forth and the Republicans are looking for ways to demonize and discredit them, the problem being it will be seen for what it is: Yet another attack on women. Hard not to notice desperation is already in place as the scheme is revealed and the goal is slipping away. If Kavanaugh does wind up on the SC bench will it “discredit” the court? Not compared to their numerous horrible decisions. Will it finally and forever put to sleep the idea that the court is fair, impartial and non political? Most of us are already there, the main stream media excepted.
I’m in a group of five activists headed toward the Hart office building.
Just phoned ahead to see where to link up with our people. Ask what the crowd was like so far. How many people?

Left the Hart lobby to find a Senator’s office to occupy. Cruz’s was packed with activists so Capitol cops turned us away. Saw hero activist Ady Barkan.
So we went to Russell to Coons’. They can’t eject us. We’re constituents!
Had a quick chat & a handshake with Elizabeth Warren. She spoke to the larger crowd in the lobby.
Entire place is saturated with thristy Capitol fuzz. They look parched. And heavily armed!

Vote no on Kavanaugh.
People are saying… Loads of people.
I’m not watching, just to save the wear and tear on the TV from thrown objects, but I’m stunned by what I’m seeing online. Republicans on Fox are calling this a disaster for Republicans, people out in public are tweeting that women everywhere were openly weeping during Christine Blasey Ford’s statement.
So much winning.
The hearing is not about winning.
Winning means 11 votes on Friday, and 51 on Saturday or ASAP thereafter.
It also means a lot of votes in November.
You know…I was just thinking that the majority of American’s didn’t vote for Trump. A more sensible person would tread lightly and try to build a consensus.
I believe it was Alby who made a suggestion the other day that Trump’s best move would be to pull this nomination ASAP and replace with the female RWNJ. Regardless of her judicial principles, she would be far more likely to win confirmation, and with far less pain.
Trump’s problem (well, one of his many problems) is that he doesn’t consider any outcome a “victory” unless it’s preceded by a brawl.

In substantive and societal terms this is a powerful, morally healing moment. In political terms, for the Majority it seems like nothing short of a catastrophe. What’s more it is something the Majority one hundred percent brought on themselves: first attacking Blasey Ford’s credibility, then trying to bluff her out of testifying, later trying to rush the vote and finally in thinking anything good would come of having their question time used as a hostile cross examination.
It is hard to imagine how this could have gone any worse for Kavanaugh or the Majority.

Wow. Now Kavanaugh is compounding the error by playing the victim. It’s one thing to set yourself on fire, it’s another to think you’re just drying off by doing so.
Funny how good his memory is, too, for a guy who couldn’t remember shit about anything, ever, just a few days ago.
A commenter said it. The biggest injustice in the world is when a white guy like Kavanaugh doesn’t get something he wanted. He feels it slipping away, so he’s gone full Clarence Thomas.

They could have read Judge’s memoir and learned it.
They could have read his yearbook and learned it. Although I get the sense we haven’t seen his actual yearbook, which would have messages from his classmates in it, right? I didn’t save any calendars, but I still have my high school yearbook. All we’ve seen is a clean copy of his page.

We have seen the real Judge Kavanaugh this evening. Blatantly partisan and unable to control his anger. We’re not the first people to see him out of control.
BTW, I predict the Rethugs vote him in. The Party is now nothing but a criminal conspiracy.
They’re working very hard already to spin Kavanaugh’s testimony as powerful and convincing, rather than unhinged and revealing. Let’s see if the media falls for it.
Media isn’t falling for it. But that’s not who the message is tailored for.

Even if the accusations were false, this is a disqualifier. We have a reasonable expectation that regardless of their personal politics, Supreme Court justices will always be above the fray. Their decisions, which affect millions, are final. Those decisions change lives. When a nominee fails to exhibit the gravitas that recognizes the weight of the approaching membership on the court of last resort, they must be excluded. And this is not just about his display yesterday. He has demonstrated that lack of gravitas throughout the hearings.
