The same outfit that ran the anti-Carper commercial is really going after him in this mailer.

I’d have loved for these to have hit mailboxes last month.

  2. Alby says:

Seems like a directionless organization, going after both Carper and Bob Hugin in New Jersey. As noted the other day, it’s not as if Arlett would stick up for consumers, and it’s not as if he has a chance anyway.

The mailer is true, but the money the group spent on it is wasted. I wouldn’t give them a penny.

  3. jason330 says:

Yeah. It doesn’t add up. Someone has a lot of money and needs to spend it.

  4. RE Vanella says:

It is strange. Obviously they have dough. Why didn’t they spend it prior to the primary?

That’s not to say the result would have changed. I don’t think it would have. But if this is the issue you want to spend millions on, why now? Odd.

  5. Al Catraz says:

I love their TV commercial with the monopoly board. Notably absent from the spaces on the board? Astra-Zeneca.

My Lord, Tom Carper might be in the back pocket of one of his state’s largest employers!

    • Jason330 says:

How many Delaware voters are watching morning Joe every morning? I’m beginning to think that these may be aimed at holding down Dem turnout(?).

But then, they are also going against Bob Hugin. It is just odd.

      • Jason330 says:

…I mean from an “x’ s and o’s” strategy perspective it is odd.

If they are simply trying to get the truth out, as an end in itself them I guess these ads do that.

      • Bane says:

Ding ding ding…. Great job Jason. They’re just trying to keep Dems at home. You guys are the target. Its what Russia did to Hillary, only they targeted minorities and women though.

        • Alby says:

Then why do they want to keep R’s home in New Jersey? That’s what we don’t understand.

Also, too, 50,000 Democrats could drop dead the night before the election and Carper would still win easily. If you wanted to go after Carper, why not do it for the primary, when his opponent actually agreed with your stated agenda? Do they think Rob Arlett will be anti-pharma?

In short, it’s just weird from a strategic standpoint.
