NYT’s Jonathan Martin Clowns Coons

Filed in National by on September 5, 2018

“This (contested primaries) is relatively new to us and it means that a younger generation of candidates view themselves as not being willing to work their way up through elections and they want to go straight for primarying our most senior elected official,” said Senator Chris Coons, who took Mr. Biden’s seat after serving on the county council.

1) I thought Coons was chummy with the media?

2) It still kills me when Coons & Carper talk about “The Delaware Way” like it is a good thing. It is like listening to some Catholic Priests talking about how close they are with the parish’s alter boys.

How convenient for Chris. Not a serious attack on Kerri, she’s got chops from her work. I guess Chris thought Obama was an illegitimate presidential/senatorial candidate too. Obama/Harris: similars arcs.

Politicians have no special skills and require no advanced training. These aren’t airplane pilots or bridge engineers or pediatric heart surgeons. The entire premise is fucking stupid and transparently self-servicing with a hint of gross classist bullshit.

    Fuck Chris Coons’.

Coons should be worried. He got his start by winning a 4-way primary in 2000, beat a pair of ne’er-do-wells (Freebery and Korn) in the ’04 primary, followed by Gordon in the ’08 primary. A decade of beating up on political lowlifes qualifies him to become the sacrificial lamb against Mike Castle in 2010 … and he gets saved by a witch. The best thing he’s got going for him is a free pass in 2020. He’s got four years to remake himself … or face some serious competition for the first time in his life.

@j “…about how close they are with the parish’s alter boys.”

alter boys??? You mean boys they are trying to alter?

Hearing Carper & Coons talk about the Delaware way is, perhaps, as disgusting.
