If she wins the primary, Kathy McGuiness is the only “Democrat” I will vote against in November

Filed in National by on August 31, 2018

I’m lazy. I haven’t hated on the Kathy McGuiness for auditor campaign in these pages in a way that it richly deserves to be hated on. Her run for Auditor is the absolute epitome of everything that is wrong with the Delaware Democratic Party. This campaign is the tar in the overflowing ashtray of the smoked-filled backroom. To accept this role marks McGuiness as a souless vestigial tail hanging on the ass-end of corrupt Peter C. Schwartzkopf, her reputation from here on out caked with Pete’s shit balls.

Park City Kathy is an unqualified political hack that was hand picked by party insiders in order to have a compliant puppet in an important office. The whole thing reeks. Vote for Kathleen Davies. If that doesn’t work vote for whatever idiot the GOP nominates.

  1. The Davies-McGuiness-Spadola Gambit | Exceptional Delaware | September 3, 2018

Last night, thought I saw a piece online headlined “Citing multiple conflicts of interest, McGuinness withdraws from auditor’s race.” This morning I concluded it was a dream.
Just about every year I demonstrate a streak of independence by voting for one R. If Davies doesn’t send Kathy back to Park City, I’ll gladly vote for James Spadola. He’s a nice enough guy, he works hard, and he deserves some reward for trying to take out Harris McDowell two years ago.

  2. RE Vanella says:

Prior to Monday’s debate I was approached by James Spadola outside of Cab. We know each other. He lives in my neighbourhood.

    My missus complimented his tie.

I said, “Look, everyone, we got the reincarnation of Mike Castle.”

Spadola says, “you know 90-95% of the time that’s a great compliment. But I know you.”

I said, “yeah, it’s an insult. But I’ll tell you what. If McGuiness wins the primary I’ll hate vote for you.”

    He replied, “I’ll take it.”

  3. RE Vanella says:

Full disclosure. I personally don’t like a bland moderate Republican, ex-cop, serial office seeker, Castle acolyte. (Castle-Lite?)

However, mediawatch is correct. He seems like a nice enough fella. He’s earnest. Good enough for me to vote against McGuiness.

But let not put the cart before the horse. Vote Davies.

  4. jason330 says:

The thing that pisses me off is that (if she wins) the stench of corruption and cronyism issuing from this campaign puts a bit of stink on all Democrats running.

Does Pete give a fuck about that? Please.

    • mediawatch says:

No, Jason, he doesn’t. That’s the Delaware Way.
Best we can do in November is hold our noses on a few offices, and vote for Tizzy and Sean and Kowalko and all the other reform-minded progressives, then hope they succeed in moving the needle in the correct (i.e., not right) direction in Dover.

With the new legislature, can Pistol Pete be voted out as Speaker?

  6. jason330 says:

I suppose he can always be voted out as speaker as long as someone else has the votes to do it.

  7. Jerry says:

Thanks folks. Please vote for Kathleen Davies and not special interest and corporations.

  8. JR says:

It has been said that Spadola said he has this race wrapped up if Kathleen Davies does not win the primary. The thing with Spadola is he has been working with AOA to trash my wife and get her out of the race. There are dirty politics going on. I have even heard that Pete put her up to this so she didn’t run against him. Did u watch the WDEL debate where Allen cornered her and ask her about a property that was offered if she moved up north to run for office. She stumbled pretty bad. Corporation? She also said that she works with non union folks ABC. They despise workers rights. Oh wait didn’t she work against Rib Artlet when he tried to make Sussex right to work. Nope but she got credit for it from Pete. Too many flaws folks. Too many special interest in her pocket. Heard this was just another stepping stone for her to run for governor also.

  9. Who would be up for it? Quinton Johnson? Val?

  10. Depends on who else gets elected. I think that Paul Baumbach would be the likely ‘progressive’ in the scrum, if it came to one.

Quin Johnson’s politics are no more progressive than Pete’s.
