Florida voters in both parties rejected the more centrist candidates in yesterday’s primaries, and within hours GOP winner Ron DeSantis, a Trump favorite, was warning voters not to “monkey up” the state by voting for Democrat Andrew Gillum, an African-American. His spokesman says DeSantis meant nothing racial by it. They never do.

The saddest thing about the collapse of establishment Democrats is that every step they take to reverse their rate of collapse increases it instead. Take today’s news that Chuck Schumer cut a deal to fast-track judicial appointments so Democrats could go home to campaign. He must not realize that we don’t want campaigning, we want the kind of resistance he just failed to provide.

Louis C.K. appeared unannounced at a New York comedy club last night, and the nation’s female culture writers reacted in unison to declare that he hasn’t earned his redemption. These verdicts were handed down with what seems like a demand that he go away. Good luck with that. Even Sinbad still has a career.

Official sources now acknowledge that nearly 3,000 people in Puerto Rico died as a result of Hurricane Marie. It would have been Trump’s Katrina, but the victims weren’t white enough.
