Carper Campaign Propped Up By Out of State Corporations and Oligarchs

Filed in National by on July 12, 2018

A constellation of corporations and groups outside Delaware has showered support on millionaire, Tom Carper throughout his career.

In return for those efforts, oligarchs based in Wall Street, Geneva, Shanghai, Cypress and Moscow hope to retain Carper’s reliable vote in the Senate. Beyond a simple vote though, Carper provides a valuable service to his out of state paymasters. Constantly frustrating Democratic unity and undermining policies that support working Delawareans has been a boon to his corporate constituents.

Some of these corporations and oligarchs “legally” reside on 1209 North Orange street in Wilmington, however, the keeper of the PO box in which they purportedly reside has refused to comment on Carper’s vast out of state support network.

Another way is possible. It doesn’t have to be this way. We can have a representative that represents people rather than shadowy capital interests.

The option is available and the difference is clear.

    Kerri Evelyn Harris for Senate

  2. bamboozer says:

Are you surprised? Carper had a For Sale sign on his head from day one. Then again so do the rest of them.

  3. Carper is Clinton w/o the charisma. They both shared the same philosophy: Make the Democratic Party safe for the big corporate interests. Carper had the good political fortune to make his political ascent at the same time that Delaware ceded the legislative process to the credit card banks.

In fact, Carper (correctly) jettisoned the petty corruption of NCC party boss Gene Reed (think shoeboxes full of money) for the corporate-sanctioned corruption of the banks, Big Pharma and the chemical companies that ran the state. That Jimmy Cagney movie title sums it up best: “Never Steal Anything Small”.

  4. Gerald Miller says:

If he’s not liberal enough for you liberals , who is? Basically I prefer no dems. Vote them out of office.

  5. RE Vanella says:

Gerald… When we win your life will be better too. You’ll see.

  6. Sam says:

RE Vanella… That sounds like something Trump would say. lol

  7. Sam says:

The one thing the liberals and conservatives have in common is that neither see race and both have a visceral reaction to “identity politics”. I’m not sure that a minority candidate can win without consolidating support in minority communities like Obama did in 2008 and LBR did in 2016. That doesn’t mean that you don’t have a big tent or that you don’t talk to every voter, but you have to have that base of support. I’m not seeing this from the Harris campaign. You wouldn’t even know that she was a black woman unless you showed up to an event and asked the person next to you. This is the first black woman to run for the US senate in DE, but I’m not getting the same vibe from the black community like we saw from Lisa’s campaign. Can a black candidate win a Democratic primary in Delaware without actively and intentionally consolidating support in the black community? Anthony Brown (D) in Maryland had this problem which led to Larry Hogan (R) winning in Maryland; a state that’s 1/3 African American.

  8. Delawarelefty says:

Gee Sam, you claim to not see race but rant about what you see as racial politics. I call bullshit to your entire premise

  9. mouse says:

45 supporters see race with everything that matters to them, especially immigration and refugees. The most dimwitted morally and intellectually bankrupt people in this nation are driven by racial resentment by the republican party. It seems self evident to me every day.

  10. RE Vanella says:

Reinforcements! Real people too. They don’t live in a postbox at 1200 Orange St.or anything.

Have you read Coons’ comment about “wide eyes” leftists? Hilarious. Crapped his nappy. Scared shitless.

#1 Centrism is a loser’s game. Unfortunately for all of us, all evidence is in my favor on this.

#2 There’s absolutely nothing delusional or radical about Medicare for everyone, security in housing and in retirement, and a $15 minumum wage. It’s just not in Chris Coons’ interest, see. Not in Carper’s or Carney’s either.

Think real hard as to why that is.

  11. Bane says:

Delawarelefty… I don’t think Sam was saying that he/she didn’t see race. I think they were being sarcastic and condescending to liberals and conservatives. I’ll assume Sam is a moderate or libertarian. And I don’t call bs. I think Sam hit the nail on the head regarding a topic that would probably never get written about here. A black candidate can’t win without being the black candidate in the black community. Without that base of support you have problems. Anyone who doesn’t see that is one of those bs niave liberals who say stuff like “I don’t see race”, as though the rest of voters feel the same way.

Just saw the carper billboard on I 95 south. he scared

  13. Bane says:

Lol he does billboards every election. Not sure I’d use them as a sign of fear. Now if you see him on TV, he’s scared.

  14. RE Vanella says:

He’s scared. Billboard or no billboard.
