Stonewall Democrats Violated Stated Mission with Mike Ramone Endorsement

Filed in National by on June 19, 2018

Karen P must have some real juice to get the Delaware Stonewall Democrats to contravene their stated mission by endorsing Mike Ramone, a Republican.

STONEWALL DEMOCRATS
There are LGBT Democratic groups across the US that work to elect pro-LGBT Democrats in federal, state, and local elections, serve as a bullhorn for LGBT governmental issues, and supply LGBT voters to ballot boxes. This directory will help you find your local group.

  1. Mitch Crane says:

The Barbara Gittings Delaware Stonewall Democrats dissolved last Winter and transferred its assets to the Delaware Stonewall PAC. The PAC Board re-organized as a non-partisan PAC

The PAC endorsement of Mike Ramone was made under the new rule as he and every filed legislator with a 100% LGBT voting record was endorsed

Legislators running for re-election with less than 100% were not considered for endorsement for re-election. That includes Democrats Potter, Jacques and Carson and every Republican other than Ramone

No one on the PAC Board has had a conversation with Karen Peterson about Ramone.

All this was announced at last Saturday’s fundraiser

Delaware Stonewall PAC is an independent organization unaffiliated with the Democratic Party. The by-laws you posted are of the defunct Delaware Stonewall
Democrats. The PAC president is Peter Schott
The endorsements made to date were unanimous
No endorsements were made where there wasn’t consensus

The remaining races and federal offices will be reviewed after the filing deadline

I post only to state facts. Jason, I respect you, though you obviously no longer respect me. I know you like taking extreme positions but I would hope you would check facts before you post

  2. RE Vanella says:

Different PAC same shit PAC politics. Also, like you, was probably better long ago.

Mitch – I like you because you’re honest. We hate your politics for reasons we say. Then you come on here and give us more details supporting the exact shit we said.

I like that. And it’s all by the rules. Letter of the law. Like internment camps!

    Still wanna meet?

  3. Delaware Left says:

So you changed your name to hurt the democrat running?

  4. RE Vanella says:

Here’s what Mitch will likely never realize. He’s now part of the systemic and structural blockades to change he used to detest. The work he’s doing is strengthening mechanisms that will fight to the death to never have any economic or social justice in this state and in this country.

If you, gentle readers, think non-partisan PACs and Pete Schwartzkopf and Kathy Jennings and Kathy McGuiness are going to do anything to get us from A to B on anything I believe in, I humbly ask you to do some soul searching.

    Because these people suck.

  5. RE Vanella says:

Mitch… now you come on here and explain precisely what Pete and Kathy stand for. And it’s exactly what I said it is. Then tell me why you support them and It’ll be exactly what I said it is.

You’re lost, bud. It’s actually real sad. SDS? un-fucking-believable.

  6. Poopy Pants says:

    Mitch Crane, your quote:

The PAC endorsement of Mike Ramone was made under the new rule as he and every filed legislator with a 100% LGBT voting record was endorsed

Legislators running for re-election with less than 100% were not considered for endorsement for re-election. That includes Democrats Potter, Jacques and Carson and every Republican other than Ramone.”

THEN HOW ON EARTH DO YOU JUSTIFY AN ENDORESEMENT FOR PARADEE???

  7. How do they justify an endorsement for McGuiness? When has she even cast a vote on the issue? Even Dennis E. Williams has a better official voting record on the issue. MUCH better.

    Mitch, Mitch?

  8. Peter Schott says:

We became Delaware Stonewall PAC because our mission is to support individuals who have been or are committed to vote for LBGT rights. We look at previous records, send out questionnaires and even interview candidates. There is one Republican who has consistently supported our mission, so we endorsed him on those issues although we may not agree with him on some other issues.

If you are seeking out the perfect candidate who you agree with 100%, then vote for yourself. It is what we learned from Barney Frank awhile ago.

Kathy McGuiness has a long record of supporting and working with LGBT community, so we could not ignore her.

Delaware Stonewall PAC did the right thing.

  9. Jason330 says:

“ There is one Republican who has consistently supported our mission, so we endorsed him on those issues although we may not agree with him on some other issues. “

…because it is 1998 and we can afford to ignore the bad stuff.

Peter- I hope you know how much bullshit is loaded into your rationalitzation.

  10. RE Vanella says:

    Nice trope, Pete. Purity test!

You endorsed Kathy to ingratiate yourselves with the Carney machine.

We don’t need a pure candidate but we have standards which are far different from yours.

Nobody in the state has stood up to this bullshit before, Guess what, we’re doing it now.

Like I said, I have very specific standards politically to get us from A to B. From here to single payer universal health care, $15 minimum wage, extreme criminal justice reform and taxing the oligarchs hoarding billions of dollars and letting our school deteriorate while they send their kids to Tower Hill and Friends.

Your group and its politics are shit and you’re explanation is garbage. You care about pitting on a little show for the political elite.

Your boy Mitch reps for cops.

  11. Alby says:

The existence of the Log Cabin Republicans illustrates quite well that being gay doesn’t make one liberal.

  12. RE Vanella says:

Absolutely true. But my critique has nothing to do with sexual orientation or party affiliation necessarily. However, Mitch was the chair of the Sussex Democrats, yes?

Don’t pretend to be liberal or on the left when all you do is rep for status quo political machine, cops and oligarchs.

Then come on here and defend it. Nah. Not having it.
