Coons Expresses ‘Strong Opposition’ in Almost-Strongly-Worded Letter

Filed in National by on June 19, 2018

Chris Coons’ Bipartisanship Buddy today is Sen. John McCain, who joined Delaware’s Avatar of Aisle-Crossing to send a strongly-but-not-too-strongly worded letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urging Trump to withdraw a nominee for the State Dept.’s top refugee job, an anti-immigration zealot named Ronald Mortenson.

“We encourage the administration to withdraw Mr. Mortensen’s nomination to serve as Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration and to work with President Trump to nominate a qualified individual who is committed to the United States’ legacy of promoting the human rights of displaced people,” the two senators wrote in the letter.

Encourage, eh? Yeah, that oughta do it. Well done, Chris.

He doesn’t understand how to do it because he gets paid to not understand it. No anti-internment camp PAC money.

Hey, Chris. You’re next, bud. You’ll be remembered as a Maréchal Pétain character. Vichy collaborator. Scum.

Know why? Because I’m going to make it my life’s work.

Really Coons this is the best you can do. A sophmore could have written a stronger letter. Why does Coonsie always work with republicans? My God, this man is nothing but a tool nothing to do with bipartisanship, they give him cover.
