Time to vote (with your $50.00) for Kerri Evelyn Harris, against Tom Carper

Filed in National by on March 30, 2018

UPDATE:  Carper silent on Trump’s VA pick.   If you haven’t heard anything from Carper on Trump’s ongoing attempts to gut the VA, it is because Tom Carper thinks that Trump is just another President with  whom he can cut deals.   Time to send a message to this guy.   This is not normal.    Contribute $5.00 – $10.00 – $50.00 any amount in the next 24 hours.

Let this be your first vote of the primary season. Vote with your $10, $20 or $2,000 contribution today. We are trying to get Kerri an extra $500.00 to close out the month.

We know the 1%’s hero, Tom Carper, will not be defeated with money, but money is required to get the word out. To that end, I will be matching the first $100.00 with my own $100.00, so log your contribution below. I will also be pushing this post to the top throughout the day.

I have already contributed to Kerry Harris. I wish her the best…

  2. jason330 says:

    Good stuff. Thanks

  3. Don Peterson says:

    Just contributed Jason!

  4. I already ‘voted’ once, will be ‘voting’ several more times.

I finally met her last night at the manse of RE Vanella. Her empathy and understanding of the needs of those who can’t afford to underwrite Carper Inc. is inspiring.

Dollars are great, but so is shoe leather. Get on board now.

BTW, thanks, RE, I really enjoyed meeting you and you did a great job hosting!

  5. RE Vanella says:

The missus and I were very happy to do it.

    Vote early and often.

  6. RE Vanella says:

Will Carper speak out, stand up and fight this. No, he will not. Perhaps they’ll be another strong urging…

“It seems that these successes within the department have intensified the ambitions of people who want to put V.A. health care in the hands of the private sector. I believe differences in philosophy deserve robust debate, and solutions should be determined based on the merits of the arguments. The advocates within the administration for privatizing V.A. health services, however, reject this approach. They saw me as an obstacle to privatization who had to be removed. That is because I am convinced that privatization is a political issue aimed at rewarding select people and companies with profits, even if it undermines care for veterans.”

I am very interested in getting to know more about Harris and in supporting her. March 27 NYT editorial credited Carper with helping improve recent omnibus budget bill; anybody have more specifics as to what he actually did?

“That these and many more riders were deleted from the bill is a tribute to Senator Charles Schumer of New York, the Democratic leader, and Senate allies like Patrick Leahy of Vermont, Tom Udall of New Mexico and Thomas Carper of Delaware, all willing to annoy some powerful interests along the way. ”

  8. Alby says:

As an editor, I would be hard-pressed to make that statement more vague than it already is. We are not told which riders, which powerful interests or which politicians are responsible for which deletions.

    Other than that, great reporting!

  9. jason330 says:

    I know, right? Absurd.

  10. Just ‘voted’ again. Help Kerri finish out the quarter with a flourish.

  11. Paul says:

I added another $50 “vote” to KEH.
