Miro continues the stampede for the Leg Hall exit

Filed in National by on March 8, 2018

State Rep. Joseph Miro on Thursday joined a growing number of state legislators who plan to retire at the end of their current term.

“I want to spend more time with my family and my 13 grandchildren,” said the Pike Creek Republican who turns 72 later this month. “You know when it’s time to leave. You know it in your gut.”

A native of Cuba who taught at Newark High School for three decades, Miro has represented the 22nd Representative District for 20 years. He previously spent six years on New Castle County Council.

…Miro is now the eighth state legislator to give notice of their impending retirement, meaning nearly 13 percent of the 62 seats in the Delaware General Assembly will be held by newcomers when the Legislature reconvenes in January.

  3. I always liked Joe Miro. A good legislator, a better person.

Screw Miro, he’s trying for one last piece of legislative mischief by sponsoring another step back to prohibition in the form of a .05 DUI standard.

Don’t give Miro the Mike Castle “nice guy” pass. Miro is a soldier in the destruction of public education, and the blockade against increasing minimum wage. I’ll be glad to see him go.
