Is Trump trying to bait Biden into running?

Filed in National by on March 4, 2018

It probably give the Manchurian Pumpkin too much credit for thinking strategically, but he seems to be spoiling for a fight (electoral or fisticuffs) with Joe Biden.

Separately, Trump referenced former Vice President Joe Biden’s line during the 2016 campaign that “I wish we were in high school, I could take him behind the gym.” Biden made the remark following the release of footage from a taping of NBC’s “Access Hollywood” in which Trump said he kissed and groped women without their consent.

“There’s talk about Joe Biden, Sleepy Joe, getting into the race,” Trump said. “You know what he said, ‘I want to take him behind the barn.’”

“Just trust me, I would kick his ass,” the President, 71, said of Biden, 75.

“Boy, would he be easy,” Trump added. “Oh, would he be easy.”

I’ve always heard (but never fact checked) that Biden got a boost to his first Senate run by challenging Evans to a fistfight. These schoolyard taunts might be mutually arousing for these guys who think of themselves as alpha monkeys, but is it any way to run a country?

Biden ran against Boggs for the Senate. Evans was the guy Carper beat.

“Just trust me, I would kick his ass,”

The embarrassment for my country continues unabated.

Also, Biden would win because he has probably been in a fight once or twice in his life. Trump has always had someone to do the fighting for him.

Considering Biden’s close association with the widely despised Obomba and uncanny resemblance to the corporate suits that Trump bested in the GOP primary, it’s easy to understand why Trump would prefer Biden as an opponent.

Gallup has Obama at 63% approval rating.

Seems like the Corporate suits are Trumps buddies and running the country look at Treasury the EPA and Secretary of State Department of Labor tHE NLRB among others

    “Obomba”

Transmogrifying someone’s name in order to denigrate or insult them is first and foremost juvenile. But more importantly it is lazy in that it avoids having to construct an argument of why the person or their actions should be criticized.

Public figures like Trump, Obama, and Clinton all have created plenty of opportunity for criticism without resorting to such practices.

Regardless of whether one disagrees with Obama’s policies, there can be no doubt that he felt strongly that they were in the best interests of the nation. The same can be said of Bush and Clinton. (I deliberately do not include Trump, because I suspect that much of what he does is intended to be in his best interests and not the nation’s or the GOP’s or even his base.)

If I were to say that Trump seems to be suffering from early onset of dementia (which I do), it’s not intended as an insult. I made the same observation about my father a number of years ago and he was. One can criticize without denigrating and insulting, unless there is some animus involved.

In summary, if someone has a criticism of Obama’s policies and actions, make the case and use his name properly because as soon as I see a juvenile insult, I immediately discount both the argument and the one who proffers the argument.

    Dave,

I use “Obomba” as an allusion to his criminal drone and war happy foreign policies.

Now, if you ever find a survivor of any of Obomba’s drone strikes who objects to my use of “Obomba”, let me know and I’ll stop.

You’ll have a long wait. No survivor of Nixon’s carpet bombing of Cambodia ever objected to “Tricky Dick”. Think on that while you clutch your pearls.

It is, first and foremost, juvenile.
