Delaware’s Blood-Soaked “Sportsmen” Call for “Individual Control”

Filed in National by on February 28, 2018

I can’t make this shit up.

Delaware State Sportsmen’s Association President Jeff Hague appeared on Rob Sussman’s WXDE show yesterday and said, “From our analysis of what’s going on, on a national level it’s being driven down to a liberal, democratic [sic] agenda and far left views on many issues, not only the gun issue, but many issues and they’re putting enough pressure on local democratic [sic] legislators and I believe the Governor’s office in this case to take up the banner and run with the national agenda as far as more gun control and less individual control and try to deflect away from the real issues,” explained Hague.

Uh, fellas…I think you misunderstand the verb “explained,” because that liquefied word salad doesn’t qualify.

I would blame the educational system except that stupid is as stupid does.

One of the reasons I am not a member of any conservative organizations (aside from the fact that I am relatively liberal) is that I am adverse to being continually embarrassed by what passes for conservatives these days. I know some of them got through school and even have a 4 year degree but I can’t even begin to fathom how that is possible and still wind up so illiterate and ignorant without any formal training.

Individual control means hitting the students you are aiming at. At least that’s what the NRA bumperstickers say.

  3. Alby says:

Apparently they think that psychological testing for the entire population would be easier to achieve than banning a battlefield rifle.

If they tested only those who were buying guns, that I’d support.

  4. bamboozer says:

Believe the famed “fog of war” has settled into the collective Republican brain at this point as they cling to the NRA for dear life, this time they didn’t get their usual cooling off period when the kids called them out and would not go away. The result is the rambling and near incoherent statement of Hague the obscure.

  5. The Truth Hurts says:

Now we will see how all the DINOs who are returning their NRA campaign contributions will react.

Betcha they fall in line with their fellow duck hunting buddies at the Sportmens Association.

Can’t miss out on any muskrat at the ole wild game dinner after all….

  6. Jason330 says:

Psychological testing for the entire population happens every 4 years. Unfortunately, we fail that test regularly.

I realize that there is certain willingness to stereotype public servants and in some cases deservedly but I want to draw your attention to past efforts by Larry Mitchell to do the right thing in the public’s interest.

It was not publicized extensively at the time but during the 147th GA Rep. Mitchell authored and prime sponsored a responsible piece of legislation to impact gun excesses. The bill got out of committee but was (inexcusably) never allowed to the floor. Larry and I discussed this at length and his interest and determination to bring the bill forward were thwarted by others. Rep. Mitchell is currently drafting a similarly intended piece of legislation, that I will co-sponsor, and I feel he deserves acknowledgement for his efforts.

My personal position (as expressed to any inquiring constituent) is —-

I never have and never will taint myself with NRA money or endorsements

Hey, John. Apparently the legal weed report didn’t get the votes to release it. What the fuck? We can’t consider the report even.

Let your colleagues know, from me, they’re all worthless dipshits.

  9. Liberal Elite says:

    @REV “Armed teachers”

And who could have predicted that some overworked and underpaid stressed out teachers would have any issues???

How many teachers have been fired for assaulting students?
Yea… Just what we need… let’s add guns to that mix.

  10. Winston Ampleforth says:

RE : 3 of the 4 legislators on the weed committee voted to release the report (Henry, Keeley and Smyk) and 1 (Richardson) was not present. The members who killed the release were the agency folks who went not voting. Blame the executive branch on this one, not the legislative.

  11. Are you serious says:

You losers are mad he does not care what you think and laughs in your face

  12. Alby says:

You losers are happy because you think that. Who’s the loser again, loser? We have a web site and you have…what? Shit on your hand?

Afeerd we’re gonna come and git yer gun, Jethro?

  13. Alby says:

@LE: Didn’t an armed teacher in Atlanta barricade himself in a school today? Yeah, that idea’s going about as well as could be expected.

  14. Dave says:

“You losers are mad he does not care what you think and laughs in your face”

Either a product of our educational system or a Russian troll, or just stupid.
