Song Of The Day: Feb. 13, 2018

Nathan Arizona Week. Day 2!:

“The only hit by a 1990s “alternative” band with hints of the ’70s. In fact, pretty much the only New Radicals song anybody’s ever heard of. Praised by Joni Mitchell, who hardly likes anything. It never made sense to me that this group dropped off the face of the earth afterwards. Maybe the insults to other bands in the lyrics were bad for career development. The bucket hat Gregg Alexander liked to wear probably didn’t help either. Alexander, who pretty much was the band, went on to write and produce for others. Fun fact: The song became an anthem for the Newcastle United soccer team.”
