An uplifting story from Politico – Progressives storm Democratic primaries

Filed in National by on February 12, 2018

Progressive insurgents are launching challenges to Democratic members of Congress in some of the country’s bluest districts, sparked by deep frustration with the party establishment and anti-Trump anger.

Most of the challengers are long shots at the moment. But some are putting a scare into entrenched incumbents, thanks to their muscular fundraising and a message of liberal disaffection on issues including Wall Street, criminal justice reform and single-payer health care.

Hope it amounts to something, believe I speak for most people who post here that I’m beyond disgusted with the Dem elite and what passes for Democrats like Coons & Carper. If there ever was a moment in recent times when a progressives might get into office this is it.

Please leave the D party and go back to the Communist party!

You’re not a Democrat, so what do you care?

  4. RE Vanella says:

Because he’s our large adult son.

  5. Teddy R says:

…so, when are one of you going to run? Serious. You never answer. Whats it going to take?

I tried to figure out how to make a cool graphic with keyboard characters that looks like naval gazing. This is the best I could come up with to represent you guys: (*)

What do you think? Get it? Its like a little belly button? Maybe an inie. Or, i guess it could be an outy. Hmm. I know, its not that great.

Well, the point is that the two of you crack me up. If shaking your fist in rage wondering why someone else wont do something was a sport, you two dudes would be like Olympic medalists.

Well, Teddy R has just demonstrated he’s an establishmentarian. “Doing something” is tantamount to running for political office. Only that counts as doing something. Speech, advocacy, support of others and initiatives are doing nothing. You gotta play the game the established way. How old and boring.

  7. puck says:

Sorry Teddy, that is the emoticon for a nipple.

  8. RE Vanella says:

I love that an anonymous commenter is obsessed with me. How long did it take to arrive at an asterisk inside parentheses?

  9. Alby says:

You’re a true Delawarean. Absolutely no balls, and only slightly more brains.

See if you can figure this one out: You think we’re navel-gazing, and you’re there doing even less — you’re criticizing the people doing the criticizing.

    What does that make you?

Do you even understand that if you really didn’t care, you wouldn’t be here? That you are shows you are scared, which is why you don’t dare use your name. You have to borrow the name of someone who had balls.
