Out of the box thinking on immigration

Filed in National by on January 25, 2018

Build a wall? Too expensive and won’t work. Fix the visa system? Too complicated, would require actual legislating and would not inflict enough misery.

Make America a shit hole that nobody wants to come to? We are already on it.

Here’s some outside the box thinking. There isn’t an immigration problem, legal or otherwise.

Even including people without documents immigrants pay taxes, commit crimes at the lowest rates and take fewer services than they are even entitled to.

The only reason some white people care is because they don’t like different people.

    Full amnesty.

Yes, all democratic controlled cities are shitholes…

  3. RE Vanella says:

    Rube mentality.

    Nailed it

  5. mouse says:

Virtually all the exceptional people who come to the US come to live in democratic controlled cities and not to white trash, religious nut flyover country

  6. RE Vanella says:

Don’t forget mouse, unlike immigrants those people in the sticks take way more in social services. They live off the taxes we pay. Look it up.

    Rubes live off our largesse.

He’s scared again. He only comes here to donate his flop sweat.

Why Jason puts up with him I’ll never know. The next intelligent thing that bot says will be the first.

  8. Liberal Elite says:

We really are going to a bad place. International tourism is up 7% worldwide, but down 4% in the US. That’s going to get much worse, before it gets better.

  9. Tom Kline says:

Guys, Wilmington is a complete SHITHOLE. I can name plenty more…

  10. Alby says:

And this is on topic because…?

As far as illegal immigration, the decline started way before Trump. The biggest deterrent seems to be the Great Recession which reduced the power of the jobs magnet:

The number of undocumented immigrants living in the United States stayed steady for an eighth straight year in 2016 with 11.3 million people, according to a report published Tuesday.

The gradual improvement of the Mexican economy, the federal government’s additions to border security and a shift in the demographics of Latin America all contributed to the nearly decade-long freeze in illegal immigration, according to the report by Pew Research Center. There was nearly two decades of growth in immigration throughout the 1990s and 2000s.

Employment is up now so the jobs magnet is getting stronger, but the Trump/ICE hostility is now presumably a new deterrent to would-be undocumenteds.

Tom can name at least 4 other cities. And he knows 22 letters of the alphabet.
