Song Of The Day: Jan. 14, 2018

We all know that, at their height, the Temptations featured two great lead singers–Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin. However, on this Smokey Robinson composition/production from 1963, Paul Williams does the honors. Agent Double O Soul loves the groove, and I don’t see how anyone can disagree:

New one on me, sweet groove.

  2. New to me as well. That’s why we should give it up for Agent Double O Soul for a great week of tunes. Future guest programmers being lined up as we speak.

New one for me as well and I thought I had heard (and danced) to everything out of the Temptations. Not one of my favorites though. It doesn’t have that Temptations tempo I loved, like My Girl, The Girl’s Alright with Me, and Since I Lost My Baby. Maybe I just like Ruffin’s and Kendrick’s sound the best. Of course they had so many great songs…

Aged, no wonder some here think the Kathy Jennings/ Penell is relevant in 2018. This is WAMS stuff.
