Trump isn’t getting impeached

Filed in National by on December 1, 2017

Just simmer down everyone. Take a look at the unlikely series of events that would have to unfold for Trump to be impeached.

1) Mueller would have to have some pretty clear cut evidence that Trump himself committed a crime. Evidence that Trump knew about a crime, our allowed a crime to happen isn’t going to cut it.

2) But say there is a video of Trump accepting a valise full of money from Putin, the Republican controlled House would have to file misconduct charges. They simply will not.

3) Say they do… the GOP controlled Senate would basically hold an impeachment trial. They simply will not.

4) Say they do…two-thirds of the senators must vote for conviction.. They aren’t going to do that. Fox News rules their world.

3) In the event the GOP controlled congress doesn’t do anything, the Democrats would have to win back control of congress. While there is a lot of anti-Trump energy crackling across the land, have Democrats really shown that ability to make the most of that energy? The Virginia results might suggest that they have, but Clinton won Virginia. Democrats would have to win in a great many places that Trump won last year.

    Checks out.

  2. bamboozer says:

Sad agreement, but resignation would be nice, even nicer would be to see the Republicans lose the house. See? It takes so little to make me happy!

  3. Mike Dinsmore says:

I’d be happy (make that ecstatic) as well, but Trump will never resign. His ego is way too big.

  4. Tom Kline says:

We couldn’t get rid of Obama so it’s unlikely Trump is going anywhere..

  5. Mike Dinsmore says:

    Hi, Tom, Who is “We”?

  6. Delawarelefty says:

But Tom, Obama is a good and fair man and Trump is criminal scum. Lock him up!

  7. Rusty Dils says:

You forgot one other reason, Trump has done nothing that our constitution says is cause for removal. Including NOT colluding with Russia to influence election.(I am still waiting for one person in the United States to step forward and say that Russia forced them to vote for Trump).

  8. Jason330 says:

    Drip, drip, drip.

    Keep hope alive Rusty.

  9. Jason330 says:

For everyone not named Rusty Dils – Since we now have proof that Trump meddled in Obama’s foreign policy with Russia, and now that Kushner is looking at a long stretch in Leavenworth, do we think Kushner is going to roll over in Trump and give up the quid pro quo?

  10. Rusty Dils says:

Jason, what are you talking about, keep hope alive, Trump is Pres, not Hillary, no hope needed. And all this whining by liberals is not going to change that. There is not one person saying the Russians made them vote for Trump. If you disagree with this statement, then all you have to do is give me the name of one person in The United States who says the Russians made him or her vote for Trump, and I will have to take it back. But, you can’t do it, because that person doesn’t exist!

  11. jason330 says:

“There is not one person saying the Russians made them vote for Trump.”

Don’t be an idiot. I mean, I know that’s impossible, but try to pump the brakes on the idiocy a little. Trump’s guilt has to do with colluding with the Russians to influence the election. Not in telling the Russians to strong arm someone into voting for Trump. Only and idiot would even suggest that is what is at issue.

If you persist with this utter nonsense I’m going to have to suggest you take your idiotic comments elsewhere.

  12. Alby says:

Once the Democrats win the House, they will open investigations galore. Once everyone sees what he’s done and the Trumpkins can’t pretend not to see it anymore, the Senate will have to vote to keep a criminal in office (money laundering is still a crime last I checked).

It will never get that far. He can take any one of numerous ways out. Few of them will keep him out of prison.

  13. Alby says:

“I am still waiting for one person in the United States to step forward and say that Russia forced them to vote for Trump.”

This has nothing to do with the standard of guilt or innocence in colluding with a foreign power to gain the office. Read the documents, Rusty. They colluded with Russia to try to smear Hillary. It will probably come out that some of “his own” money that Trump spent actually came from Russian sources. Lots of people are going to go to jail, Rusty. Just because you don’t know about it doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen.

That you are a willing dupe of the Kremlin is supposed to in some way dignify you? How?

  14. I dunno. He COULD get impeached. Once the Criminal Enterprise That IS The Rethuglican Party sees him sign the worst bill in modern history, which they’ll see within the next two weeks or so, their need for him will evaporate. He immediately becomes an albatross.

They won’t do it b/c it’s the right thing, they might do it b/c he becomes too much of a liability.

  15. CinqueB says:

@Jason330, All presidential candidates talk to foreign leaders.

  16. BTW, Jason, first year of his term isn’t up until January 20. My prediction is still alive.

  17. Alby says:

@cinqueb: Yeah, sure. There’s no difference here.

  18. Rusty Dils says:

Jason, but if zero voters were influenced to vote for Trump by the Russians, then there was obviously zero Russian influence. The real irony here is that Trump was going to leave the Clintons alone, even though they comitted treason by being instrumental in Russia’s takeover of 20 % of U.S. Uranium. But I think when Hillary is in the electric chair, she will have the democrats and specifically the Delaware Liberal to thank for keeping this fake Russia thing stirred up!

  19. Delawarelefty says:

Ha ha Rusty. You are such a dumb ass.

  20. Alby says:

@Rusty: If you intend to rob a bank but you leave because the teller doesn’t give you any money, does that mean no crime was committed?

  21. Rusty Dils says:

Alby, you’re forgetting that the alleged “probable cause” (which is what is required to launch any investigation, anytime) was that the reason Hillary LOST the election was because the Russians interfered. That’s what all the Dems said, including the one who changed the banner on this blog. Since no one has admitted to voting for Trump because of Russia, there never was probable cause, hence this investigation was and is a political witch hunt. If you talk to liberals on the street, and I have many friends and customers who are liberals, and to a man, none of them believe this Russia collusion nonsense. So, keep wasting your life on this idiocy, when you could be doing something important and grounded in reality.

  22. florida cracka says:

    Rusty Dils-

“Jason, but if zero voters were influenced to vote for Trump by the Russians, then there was obviously zero Russian influence.”

That’s quite possibly the stupidest thing I’ve ever read.

If you panhandle, yet no one gives you money, are you not a beggar?

  23. Alby says:

No, Rusty, that wasn’t the probable cause. The Russian interference was known before the election even happened.

“That’s what all the Dems said” is not the reason for the investigation, either. You really should learn what you’re talking about before you go flapping your yap.

Donald Trump is a criminal, as this investigation will show. He and his family members are all going to jail. You can keep wasting your life on your crap — how many states have complaints against you now? — but kindly leave us alone.

  24. Rusty Dils says:

Alby, all you have to do to see my point is look up yours, and Jasons, and others comments on this blog following last years election. You were all saying Russia was the reason Hillary lost, look it up, the proof is there!

  25. alby says:

This has nothing to do with anything, Rusty. You’re a person with a long legal trail commenting on a blog. Nobody gives a runny shit whether you think the investigation is legal or not.

  26. Rusty Dils says:

It sounds to me like your memory is clearing up, so you just don’t want to talk about it anymore.

  27. florida cracka says:

I asked a very simple question, Dils. Please answer it.

  28. meatball says:

Rusty, just because people tell you they were not influenced by the russian interference doesn’t mean they were not influenced.

  29. Alby says:

None of this is about what somebody here said, Rusty. It’s a federal investigation, not your personal hobby horse.

  30. Rusty Dils says:

Meatball, you misunderstand what i said. What i meant was, none of my liberal friends or liberal customers think there is anything to this Trump/Russia/Collusian investigation. They do not believe Trump colluded with Russia to influence the election. I did not say that I asked them about their vote for Trump, they are liberal, they voted for Hillary. What I said was not one single solitary person has stepped forward and said Russia caused them to vote for Trump.

  31. Alby says:

Rusty, what part of “so what?” do you not understand? I’ll say it slower: So. What?
