A number of commenters have forecast a Roy Moore victory in the Alabama special election, and the first post-Thanksgiving poll, released today, shows Moore with a 5-point lead. It’s a turnaround from polls taken in the aftermath of his purity-search scandal, and ought to serve to convince people — if November’s results didn’t do the trick — that trying to win elections on moral arguments is a mug’s game.

With nothing at stake, You’d think democrats could have come up with a Democratic sounding message. Something like “let’s fix these roads and bridges!”

    But no.

  2. Alby says:

To be fair to Jones, he is running an Alabama campaign. The media has nationalized it, so the locals will band together to fight the damned Yankees.

  3. The late write-in candidacy of this General Busbee can only siphon votes of disaffected R’s away from Jones. Moore’s gonna win. Trump has given the haters cover.

    Oh, and the D’s suck.

  4. bamboozer says:

Never had a doubt Moore would win, Alabama remains a backward and blighted state unwilling to help itself. And yes, the D’s suck and the rot starts at the top with Pelosi and Schumer, Pelosi in particular. As for moral scandals in Congress…. well, it’s just that time again as we’ve seen this game before. Many times.
