Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Home and family. This week, some songs that suit that sentiment.  Starting with this one:

    Kind of a downer, isn’t it? This is one of my favorite Band songs, but it’s about an old sailor on his deathbed.

    Probably unsurprisingly my favorite tune of the Band’s is Tears of Rage.

    Don’t forget “Marigold/Harvest Home,” by Steeleye Span.

    “Come, ye thankful people come
    Raise the song of harvest home”

    And just in case someone gets around to the category of favorite Thanksgiving movies, my vote goes to “Pieces of April,” which stars Wilmington’s own John Gallagher, Jr.

    Second place would be “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.”
