BREAKING: Roy Moore Accused Of Sexual Misconduct With 14-Year-Old Girl

Filed in Featured, National by on November 9, 2017

Whoa. It COULD be a hoax, but if true…:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/woman-says-roy-moore-initiated-sexual-encounter-when-she-was-14-he-was-32/2017/11/09/1f495878-c293-11e7-afe9-4f60b5a6c4a0_story.html?utm_term=.c1a64ab8a9b1

R senators are saying that, if true, he must leave race. The holier someone pretends to be, the sleazier they often are.

  1. Alby says:

In his defense, the Old Testament age of consent is 13, isn’t it?

  2. jason330 says:

He calls it “fake news” which I guess is the all purpose “get out of free” card for wingnuts.

  3. jason330 says:

Alby, as I read that article I was half expecting Moore to use that as a defense.

  4. puck says:

What was the age of consent in Alabama in 1979?

  5. Jason330 says:

In Alabama in 2012 State Representative Mac McCutcheon sponsored a bill to raise the age of consent from 16 to 18 in the state legislature. The bill is still being discussed.[29]

  6. RE Vanella says:

Who really believes this will impact the result?

“Even if you accept the Washington Post’s report as being completely true, it’s much ado about very little.” —–AL State Auditor Jim Zeigler. A Moore supporter and a father to a daughter Mary 18 (and a son James).

    Where there’s that much smoke….

So I’m of the opinion that there is something to the story. Whether it makes a difference in place like Alabama remains to be seen.

Anyway, his wife is 14 yrs younger than Roy. That’s probably how he scratched that itch in a more acceptable manner.

“The holier someone pretends to be,”

In many Southern states, Christianity is something that is practiced on Sundays. The rest of the week is for hedonism.

  8. Larry says:

I feel the young lady is lying on him. Why wait til the man is in his 70’s to say anything. I feel he was nice and helped her mother keep her from having to be in the court room but the rest I feel is a lie. I don’t trust a word she says. She had a child’s affection on him like he was her father and she is lying because he not in her life. Why wait form 1979 to 2017 to say anything? I don’t believe one word of her says that he took her clothes off and touched her at his own house. She just making it up to get attention for herself. She has mental issues I am betting and feels she is craving attention to over come her feelings of worthlessness. Her father ran out of them and she been divorced a number of times. She thinks man use her and she is lying on Moore to make up for her loss in her life. I would not trust a word she says!

  9. Well, it’s not just one teenager, it’s four.

    Are all of them lying?

  10. Alby says:

@Larry: Whole lotta mind readin’ goin’ on. Just because you don’t know the answers to your questions doesn’t mean they’re valid questions. She didn’t “come forward” to tell her story — the reporters tracked her down. I realize conservatives don’t know it, but this is how legitimate reporting is done.

Kerry Eleveld points out how well-sourced this story is, and highlights the fact that the reporters stumbled across these rumors researching a story about Moore’s supporters.

  11. Jason330 says:

“Who really believes this will impact the result?”

It will shave a few points from Moore’s total because there are probably a few female Republican Doctors or Professors in Alabama that still believe in reality. Most Republicans, though, would vote for Caligula if he had a “R” after his name.

  12. Alby says:

After they voted for his horse in the primary.

  13. AQC says:

Larry, many, many people are far into adulthood before they deal with childhood trauma. Seeing him all over the news certainly could have triggered her and pushed her to open up about the issue. It’s interesting though that your reaction is to find all the reasons she is a liar.
