Obama staying out of politics because it might “arouse” Trump’s base

Filed in National by on October 14, 2017

I just heard David Axlerod say something close to the above headline on CNN. It reveals a sickness in the bones of the dying Democratic Party.

The strategic calculus of “not getting involved” with issue “Z” because it “might” excite the passions of the excitable lunatics on the right, is just stupid. The excitable lunatics are going to have their passions aroused NO MATTER WHAT. It is what they do.

Read one moronically shrill comment post by Rusty Dils. He is all strung out on Fox News and in a constant state of irrational arousal, just like Trump’s entire 38%.

But who doesn’t get energized while Obama stays on the sidelines? Democrats. The Obama strategy to keep a low profile utterly failed during all of the mid-term elections while he was in office, and it is setting up to fail again.

Don’t think so.. Obama brings credibility and moral authority….Every time Hillary whines and blames the world for her issues, horrible campaig and problems, it rouses trump’s base. That is why Trump picks on her, not Obama, in his tweets.

If Democrats don’t actually do something to rile up the easily riled, they just make up something instead. It’s a fool who reaches the conclusions Axelrod did, which just shows that winning an election doesn’t make you smarter.

Republicans are bullies, and Democrats are afraid of bullies.

If just occurred to me that if he had followed his own philosophy strictly, David Axlerod’s would have been against Obama running for President as it was sure to stir up the nation’s racists.

  5. alby says:

@RE: Exactly. But clearly people don’t employ it or we wouldn’t have so damn many bullies.

Generally Former Presidents tend to keep a low profile out of professional courtesy

Generally we don’t elect clearly incompetent sociopaths.

  8. Disappointed says:

Obama is too busy collecting his $400,000 per speech payoffs from Wall Street for bailing them out and not prosecuting a single one for their sub-prime mortgage crimes.

He’s making Bill and Hillary speech money now!
