Comment Rescue: Word of the day is “malleable”

Filed in National by on October 12, 2017

When my esteemed co-counsel said this in the comments:

One more reason why the Democratic Party sucks. They WANT people with no (relevant) skills of their own as long as they are malleable Third Way types.

…I thought of Ken Simpler’s Simple plan for the state government to act as a kind of federal reserve bank, letting money out into the world to keep the economy from getting too cold or too hot. As Alby observed, that idea is DOA being illegal.

However, what if the point wasn’t the idea but the tone? What if Simpler is auditioning to be the next acceptable Republican? …a GOP candidate acceptable to Tom Carper and Chris Coons?

Ge starts by giving John Carney a semi-flacide thumbs up:

Recommendations from a DEFAC Advisory Council, as well as proposals from Governor Carney’s Budget Reset, provide some credible and actionable ideas for how to address revenue shortcomings.

Then goes onto to spray Tom Carper Austerity Musk ™ on the thing:

Rather than go on kicking that can, now is the time, during the coming legislative session, for a “grand bargain” that addresses our long-term revenue problems and institutes new spending disciplines in one fell swoop.

You have to know Carper got some wood reading that, right?

I love the Demon Ken Simpler pic. Every. Frickin. Time.

That picture looks like a tumescent member looking for a good time as in an antique Japanese print…nary a hint of a semi-flaccid state of mind.

Can Tom Carper still get wood? Now that would surprise me. I don’t know if he’s still running, but heavy exercise correlates with a negative effect on libido.

Come to think of it, neither Trump nor Weinstein looks as if he’s ever moved a muscle except when chasing skirts.
