Don’t get excited about the Trump/McConnell troubles
Here is Politico on the Trump/McConnell feud everyone is talking about.
President Donald Trump ditched his recent — if brief — talk of unity on Thursday, instead accusing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan of provoking a “mess” over the debt ceiling, while also lashing out at the news media and former intelligence official James Clapper.
The declarations came in a series of tweets that Trump fired off early Thursday, which also included a retweet of a picture of himself covering an image of former President Barack Obama with the caption, “The Best Eclipse Ever!”
Trump is a dick. McConnell is a dick. They both have a strong interest in fucking shit up. With that common goal, I’m pretty sure they’ll work things out.
What you’re missing is that they want to fuck shit up in different ways.
I’m also pretty sure the secret to the paralysis is that Trump won’t let Congress get credit for anything. He sees everything as zero-sum, so if Ryan/McConnell are praised, he sees it as a loss for himself. The whole “shared credit” idea is completely alien to him.
Yes, narcissist psychopath. I hope the party of racial resentment tears itself apart in the most humiliating way possible and all his white trash supporters are shamed, but I guess that takes a sense of dignity
@mouse: Just by chance, I saw this mental health assessment of Trump at Salon this morning. Their assessment is that “[h]e is a malignant narcissist who is also on the bipolar spectrum [specifically, hypomanic]. From a psychiatric perspective, the prognosis could not be more dire—for us.”
