Trump Refuses To Call Out White Supremacists For Violence

Filed in Featured, National by on August 12, 2017

Not even after a car plows into a group of counter-protesters in Charlottesville, Va.

Trump says the violence has been going on ‘on many sides’. Not today. Violence was the intent of the white nationalists and they accomplished their intent. Trump has never called out terrorism by white nationalists as terrorism.  Betcha he doesn’t now either.

And, like clockwork, David Duke checks in:

I would recommend you (Trump) take a good look in the mirror & remember it was White Americans who put you in the presidency, not radical leftists.

Trump’s rhetoric has enabled this violence.  Who will stand up to him?

  1. More from David Duke from Charlottesville:

“This represents a turning point for the people of this country. We are determined to take our country back,” Duke said. “We are going to fulfill the promises of Donald Trump. That’s what we believed in. That’s why we voted for Donald Trump, because he said he’s going to take our country back.”

This is what Trump hath wrought.

  2. Jason330 says:

Sickening. I turned on Fox News for a second and as I imagined they were very worried about all the violent counter protesters.

That’s what Trump is listening to right now.

  3. Jason330 says:

Whatever happened to the “it’s heritage not hate” people.

  4. Death toll up to three as a police helicopter crashes, killing two police officers.

  5. Matt Smith says:

Trump will continue to blame ‘both sides’ for the violence. If he repeats it often enough his followers will believe that too. And the media will buy in to the sound bites. Just like they do when they repeat the lie that ‘both parties’ are to blame for the gridlock in Congress.

  6. Rusty Dils says:

What everyone is not mentioning is that this is a bunch of Democrats on both sides fighting each other. Both ideologies are historically part of the left. I guarantee 98% of both sides are Democrats/Liberals/Progressives.

  7. Ben says:

    You’re pathetic.

  8. Jason330 says:

I know some people who are really committed to some cockamamie bullshit to get through their fucked up lives – but Dils commitment to the idea that the KKK is made up of Democrats takes the cake.

  9. Jason330 says:

The driver in the fatal car wreck in Charlottesville has been identified as James Alex Fields Jr., Colonel Martin Kumer confirmed to CBS News.

Fields, 20, from Ohio, is facing charges of second-degree murder, malicious woundings and failure to stop at the scene of an accident that resulted in a death.

  10. Jason330 says:

“The Daily Beast reported that Fields was a registered Republican in 2016, according to public records. His plates were expired and he had been cited for expired plates in May 2017.”

  11. alby says:

Well, I have a long record of driving with expired plates, so there’s that.

  12. Rusty Dils says:

Jason the KKK was founded by a Democrat, and was the terrorist arm of the Democrat party in the early to mid 20th century. You have not seen the pictures of the Klan in full costume at the 1924 Democratic National Convention? It’s not like we are in the caveman era, this information can easily be checked. At Robert Byrd’s funeral Bill Clinton even said that the reason Byrd had formerly been in the Klan, was because back then, to rise in the Democratic Party you had to be in the Klan. As usual Jason, you are wrong again, don’t take my word for it, do your own research.

  13. alby says:

Rusty, please. Every thinking person realizes that Southern segregationists are the issue, regardless of party. You don’t. The logical implication there is obvious.

Also, your dates are off. You really don’t know how to do the most basic research, do you?

As the British say, why don’t you bugger off?

  14. jason330 says:

    1924.

I could go through a list of things that are different today than they were in 1924, but I doubt that would penetrate the expired can of tuna that serves as Dils brain.

It is plain fact of modern life that the GOP is the party of white supremacy. Trump is beholden to the KKK. The KKK is Trump’s base. But Robert Byrd and the post civil war reconstruction give Dils a little loop hole that allows him to go around thinking that the KKK is a bunch of Democrats.

  15. jason330 says:

    From an eyewitness:

“It’s taken me a long time to process, but I think it’s the fact that these [white supremacists] aren’t laughable,” he said. “They aren’t trolls, we actually have domestic terrorism going on and we’ve spent months, if not years, laughing them off. And that just can’t happen, it can’t continue to happen, it shouldn’t have happened in the first place, but what I’ve seen today just proves to me that it’s not a joke. These terrorists aren’t trolls ― they’re terrorists ― they’re bad people.”
