Delaware Direct Train To Airport Possible? Yes, but there’s that little matter of money. Man, do we need a massive infrastructure investment now.

Congress To Strengthen Russian Sanctions.  Wonder if Putin counted on this.

Senator Kid Rock? For those who dismiss the idea, I’ve got two words for you: President Trump.

US Investigators Looking To Flip Manafort?  I’m not sure why they need to.

Minneapolis Police Chief Resigns. Hey, cops killing blacks is one thing, but a white tourist from Australia? That’s beyond the pale.

What do you want to talk about?

We don’t need a faster ride to PHL airport – we need a faster and reasonably priced ride to where the jobs are. Delawareans need to be able to commute to the ring of corporate offices north of Philly, and in the Baltimore area.

Bernie not closing the door on 2020:

“The last thing he’s going to do is step aside and let Joe Biden take it,” the Sanders associate said.

  3. Paul Hayes says:

My money would be to bet against Putin on this issue. How many senators maintain relations with the Russians? If the Russians had contacts with many senators, conceivably they could make a call on these issues. Looks like they missed this one. Bad intelligence on their side? Does that happen?

  4. Arthur says:

Wilmington couldn’t support a small regional airport. Why would I pay ($50?) for a ride to the airport that would take longer than me driving to the park and ride and paying $30 for a weeks parking

  5. RE Vanella says:

The new Newark train station will service MARC to Baltimore (or at least that’s the plan).

The SEPTA train from Wilmington directly to the airport will be a regular SEPTA ticket (less than $10) and you disembark at the terminal just like the R1 Airport line does today. No driving, no parking, no shuttle from the lot to the terminal and no waiting to a shuttle at baggage claim upon arrival.

Americans aversion to public transportation makes me laugh.

“We don’t need a faster ride to PHL airport ”

    Speak for yourself.

“we need a faster and reasonably priced ride to where the jobs are.”

    That’s a fool’s errand. Jobs move.

So for a family of 4 it’s $80 round trip? Driving to the terminal, waiting for the train, loading and unloading luggage in the same 25 minutes it takes me to get from 202 to the airport? Americans don’t have European public transportation. Our private transport ion is cheaper and faster.

  8. alby says:

@arthur: Stop being stupid. Most people don’t fly as a family of four.

  9. RE Vanella says:

With the Newark train station revitalization and a direct line from Wilmington to PHL improvements are happening.

It’s weird that people shit on US public transit relative to Europe (fair enough). Then when great improvements are planned to try to catch up the same people shit on that.

Once you park in a lot in Essington after your 20 minute drive how long do you wait for the shuttle? Do you load and then unload your luggage from the shuttle? Because that $30 figure for a long term park is not at the airport. How long do you wait for the shuttle after claiming you bags?

You explain it like we don’t know…

  10. alby says:

Arthur complains about the cost of everything.

  11. Jason339 says:

$30 in Essington if you want to park there ten years ago.

  12. alby says:

Speaking as someone who has to ferry people to the airport frequently, I’m all for eliminating those 90-minute round trips. Speaking as a taxpayer, anything that lessens auto/truck traffic is beneficial.
