Far be it for me to crap on someone who doesn’t know the difference between “past” and “passed” they probably don’t spend too much time on book learnin’ where Dukes went to school. And lord knows I’ve made my fair share of typos.

Just read past beyond that and drink in the stupidity and see how happy Gov Carney has made the “all taxes (other than taxes on poor people) are evil crowd”.

Yes Tim Dukes is an idiot. Western Sussex, what can I say. I had dealings with Dukes lumber when I was working. No discount for a school. What a tool. And more importantly, when did cutting the state budget become the goal? Cutting for the sake of cutting? That is simply nonsense. Cut because programs are no longer effective, or because they do not benefit the public good, yes. Cut education at a time when there is no identified fat, stupid and counter-productive. Does he have any idea how demoralizing these cuts will be to teachers. He just demands more and more without any rational connection. One large factor in teacher performance is moral. It is not the only one, which is why schools continue to move forward, despite the cuts. Dukes probably takes great satisfaction in harming teachers because he thinks they are overpaid, underperforming drones. He has no idea. His district is so ill served by this moron, I’m surprised they elected him. Oh, no I’m not.

    This is hardly breaking news.

The problem with Delaware is that from Smyrna to the beaches, the main source of employment is government. That’s why downstate legislators act, in the main, as conduits for employment by the state or county. They are elected mainly to siphon money from Wilmington and its suburbs to the exurbs downstate.

The Dukes family is a perfect example, but so are the families of most downstate elected officials.

Notice how the $ 2 million Sussex County was to supposed to pay for state police was cut out at the end of session..

You can visit my Facebook page to see my first posting re the budget debacle. Taking a brief break but will be writing more extensively on an advised path forward. The Polish Confusius (kowalko) said: This budget will prove that there are no rivers to deep to cross as long as you have enough poor people to stack on each other from the bottom to keep your own feet dry. Yes Dukes is.

I’m also sorry for any type O’s (blood) that are Republican ideologues or D leaders (it is a common blood type) so I guess we’re stuck with the good and the bad. My excuse is that I’m on a train and have fat, insensitive (like the ideologues) fingers. What’s theirs?

Dukes is an idiot but Andria Bennett is a fucking faux D Idiot!

Our lousy field of candidates for Delaware elective office stems from the lousy job some RDs are doing cultivating voters in the district and finding good candidates to run. In 2006, I ran from the 36th district but I came to the game late, the last week of July. For it’s part, except for myself, the district had no one to run against George Carey. (He beat me 60% to 40%) Committee people did not go out into the district, no one had a coherent strategy for mobilization and the GOTV was non-existent. When I accepted the chairmanship of the 36th committee early this year, I was determined that the committee be functional. That is another story for another time. What I came away with was that the 36th district was dominated by people who looked out only for their own self-interest, and in fact, I think the committee was distained by most registered Dems in the 36th. Not a very stable platform to run from. I continue to see a complete lack of this kind of activity in the 36th district, and indeed, I met committee members who were still poo-pooing the idea of getting out and knocking on doors. I can only shake my head. We actually have a pretty good idea of how to win, but we refuse to do the work that gets us there. Andrea Bennett is not a good progressive legislator? Pete Schwartzkopt is an especially inept speaker of the house? Yeah. And we Dems can expect more of the same until we start doing the basic motions that build into winning coalitions. SMH
