Filed in National by on June 8, 2017

Josh Marshall’s annotated version of Comey’s published opening statement is very helpful for getting your hands around the various times the Republican President attempted to obstruct justice.

The left is out to make James Comey look like a “Mr Smith Goes to Washington” type of character…..Couldn’t be further from truth.

In English Football there is a term “having a nightmare” when referring to a football referee who is having a really bad day and making the game about himself. You can see the similarities of “having a nightmare” as it applies to James Comey and his actions during the election.

Now, Comey (the referee), who is “having a nightmare”, is going to complain to the Football Association that the manager of the winning side was involved in match fixing.

On the contrary, Josh has been right about almost everything about Trump since it became clear he was a serious candidate.

    You, on the other hand…

  3. alby says:

    @FBH: Clueless, as usual.

It was, and remains, an ongoing investigation. If you knew anything about such things — and believe me, the idiot Republicans on that committee do — you’d know that what Comey did was an attempt to keep Trump and Republicans in general from fucking up the investigation.

You and your entire party are supporting treason for no better reason than it was people on your team who did it. Y’all made up scandal after scandal for Obama when there was nothing there, but hit over the heads with collusion with a foreign enemy you pretend you notice nothing.

You and your party are lower than scum. You’re shit.

@Ben: I can’t speak to that. Perhaps they are bots.

Whistle past the graveyard some more. When it turns out your boy was colluding with Russia, what are you going to say? That it’s all OK as long as it annoys liberals?

You really need to have an original thought someday.

  8. alby says:

In fact, that’s my question for all the lurking Trump/Republican fanboys today: What are you going to do when the toilet overflows?

You have to be pretty thick-headed to believe that all of this is fiction; it’s pretty obvious by now that the walls aren’t going to hold. A real investigation is going to make a lot of people look worse than anyone since Vallandigham, and several will either cut a deal or do prison time.

People will look back and marvel that Republicans, of all people, were willing to look the other way when Russia aided their side in a presidential election. Are you going to admit to your grandchildren that when the gravest foreign threat to our country since 1814 happened, you were on the side of the traitors?

PS: It’s pretty clear you don’t know jack shit about investigative work. Several of the people here, myself included, do. Trying your shuck and jive on us just makes you look like a total ass.

If we still have independent journalists and historians in 10 or 20 years, I believe they will cite, as reasons for the decline of our republic:

    * Young people, who tend to hold progressive views, don’t vote.
    * Among the people who do vote, 40 % keep themselves in the FOX News bubble. Therefore they are distracted from reality.
