He’s Toast. Seriously.  He’s gone to every investigative agency and asked them to put the kibosh on the Russian investigation.  He won’t be President by Dec. 31, 2017.

JFC Cuts Senior Property Subsidy To Seniors:  Cutting this subsidy and eliminating the Estate Tax were both proposals pushed by Markell’s Chamber-dominated working group. Give a tax break to Delaware’s most obscenely wealthy and cut a break to seniors on fixed incomes.  And the fucking Democrats who control the General Assembly go along with both.  Primaries, pipples, primaries.

Publicly-Owned Banks An Alternative to Wall Street?  I like it, even though Delaware would likely never go against the wishes of the behemoths.

Man, That Sally Yates Is One Great American.  Excellent profile from the New Yorker.

How Trump Pockets Millions From Public Employees Via Pension Scheme.  He’s still getting the money, possible violation of Emoluments Clause.

‘Lock Him Up’:  Belligerent Trump supporter delays plane for hours.

Jared Kushner: Landlord From Hell.  Great investigative reporting from Pro Publica and the NYTimes.

What do you want to talk about today?

We need to primary every Dem that voted for this bullshit

  2. john kowalko says:

Lots of other cuts coming. Call and mail all of the Joint Finance Committee members and express your opinion, thoughts and demands. These are economically disastrous policies that mirror the Trump economic policies with just as much disregard for the poorer, working class Delawareans.

  3. AQC says:

As much as I want you to be right about Trump, I am not optimistic. Maybe in 2018 if we can take control of the House and Senate.

  4. RE Vanella says:

Just consider that we’re repealing the estate tax that is only applicable to a miniscule group of multiple millionaires and we’re preparing to discontinue a $100 real estate tax credit for the elderly. If you can explain to me what the fuck is wrong with us I’d appreciate it.

  5. Stephen says:

El Som, what evidence is there that Trump asked the intel agencies to stop investigations?

  6. Arthur says:

There are publicly owned banks – they’re called credit unions

  7. Read the article, Maroon. Asked Comey to end the investigation. Comey refused, was fired by Trump. Asked the intelligence agencies to put out the false word that Trump was not involved in Russia scandal. Both refused. This is what got Nixon impeached.

If that article’s not enough for you, read this one:

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/cover-up-as-reality-show-clown-show

  8. Jason330 says:

El Som – You are drinking the Kool Aid.

Trump will not be impeached because Impeachment is not a criminal proceeding governed by rules of evidence. It is a political act that would take place in the House then the Senate. Even if there are a couple of R Senators that might favor impeachment, it would never get off the ground in the house where most GOP Reps would pay a high price FOR SUPPORTING impeachment.

That said, if Dems clobber the GOP in the mid-terms the political calculus changes, but the Dems will not clobber the GOP because they are Democrats. Just think about what the Democrats stand for here in Delaware and you don’t have to wonder why the national party is so utterly impotent.

  9. Stephen says:

I read the articles, Lavender. Unnamed sources aren’t evidence. Come on.

Jason, are you saying there is evidence for a “criminal proceeding” against Trump? Haha. Again, what evidence?!

What evidence against Trump would be accepted in a “criminal proceeding” in court? Your hallucinations are too delicious.

  10. alby says:

    “Unnamed sources aren’t evidence.”

He is being investigated. The evidence that he has been laundering Russian money has been in the news since before the election. It’s easy to find. If you can’t find it, it’s because your head is permanently lodged between your butt cheeks.

You have no evidence that he didn’t do any of this, either, so your bravado is the macho bullshit we expect from a person so stupid he likes Trump.

The day will come when you all are hanged. I’ll bring the popcorn.

  11. jason330 says:

Not this again. Yes there is evidence. Tons of it. There are many ongoing investigations producing more evidence of criminal activity by the day. There is also Trump’s own statements about taking part in criminal activity such as obstruction of justice.

Ignore it all you want, but take off and go back to chatting with your like-minded, Fox News watching idiots about it. Good day sir.

  12. alby says:

@jason: Delaware is an anomaly in that all our Democrats already act like Republicans.

Republicans will win the governorship in Delaware in 2020, because the current mood is apolitically anti-status quo — and Trump embracing the Republican agenda is not going to satisfy that urge.

Beyond Delaware, however, the Republican Party is in tatters, and it will only get worse if they enact their agenda. The House almost definitely will change hands, and we’ll get all the investigations needed to discredit Trump, the GOP and anybody stupid enough to stand behind them.

The party’s role are the reverse of what I expected, but what I expected was that both parties were destroyed in the 2016 election but one wouldn’t realize it until 2020.

  13. jason330 says:

I don’t see it.. or feel it. There was the Stephanie Hansen energy here, but out in the hinterlands, the Dem “Brand” is still worthless. It will continue to be worthless because the party has never come to terms with the disastrous Bill Clinton policies that are still in place.

The best known Dem in the country, the one who seems to articulate the closest thing to a Democratic message is Bernie Sanders… not even a Dem.

  14. Liberal Follower says:

Trump will survive. Liberals are clueless morons

  15. alby says:

“Lavender”? Do we have a men’s rights asshole here?

  16. alby says:

    Oooh, another trenchant comment.

The fuckstick brigade must be really worried if they have to urinate here to feel better about themselves.

  17. jason330 says:

You are half right, which is fucking amazing for one of you guys.

  18. alby says:

@jason: What you’re discounting is that people at this point know full well that Democrats are shit, but they smell less bad than anything Trump. They will vote for the Democrats because that’s the only option.

You don’t see the fervor in Delaware because there are no elected Republicans to take it out on.

  19. mouse says:

    Off with heads

  20. alby says:

I was excoriated for saying this months ago, but it’s made its way to the mainstream:

    http://www.rawstory.com/2017/05/experts-say-trumps-speech-deterioration-is-a-clear-sign-of-early-dementia/

They arrived at this possibility the same way I did — noticing the drastic decline in his ability to communicate extemporaneously.

  21. Ben says:

“They will vote for the Democrats because that’s the only option.”

Wasn’t that supposed to be how Clinton was going to win? Im all for a strong argument that this shitbag is going down, but it has to be one that hasnt already been proven wrong.

  22. mouse says:

F the democratic party. I should have voted for Benini for Governor. It wouldn’t be any worse. I’m not getting suckered or guilted into voting for corporate dems anymore. I’ll vote Green first.

  23. alby says:

@Ben: It hasn’t been proven wrong. This world isn’t the one of Nov. 8. Most of us have noticed, but you’re too busy crying in your beer.

  24. Ben says:

oh spare me. You have the same syndrome some of the departed contributors had where if THEY (or you) think it, it MUST be right. Either show some proof, or stop repeating the same debunked stuff, dude.

People will vote Dem because they arent Trump. Got it.
Also, Global warming is caused by gays.

  25. Ben says:

    Im with you, Mouse.
The Dem party is a sick beast that must be put down. Dems, as they exist now, are more likely to bend to the GOP will than succeed in their own agenda, so why bother supporting them?
No more being frightened into having people like John Carney in positions of power. And no more dealing will pansy-ass progressives who whine about Tom Carper, then dont do anything to mobilize to defeat him…. just fall in line once the general election season hits. a pox on all your houses.

  26. OK, kids, aka Liberal Follower and whatever pseudonyms he used, ad hominem troll drivel will not be tolerated and will be eliminated along with posting privileges.

Bring something to the table and, no matter how much flak you get, you get to stay. Bring the idiocy and you’re gone.

  27. alby says:

“You have the same syndrome some of the departed contributors had where if THEY (or you) think it, it MUST be right. Either show some proof, or stop repeating the same debunked stuff, dude.”

Projection on your part, dude. The evidence is everywhere (there’s no such thing as “proof” about the future) but you’re too self-defeated to see it. Don’t blame me for your morose attitude.

As I said, everything changed Nov. 9, but you and Jason can’t see it because you’re stuck on Delaware, where nothing has changed (except for the Hansen election, which also serves as some of the obvious evidence.)

So instead you pretend all future elections will be just like the ones before Nov. 8. Your inability to see a better future is an indictment of your vision, not the future.

  28. alby says:

@El Som: So it’s all one person? Should have guessed. That one person must be VERY worried if he has to pretend to be more than one person whistling past the graveyard, where they’ve already dug dozens of graves for Republicans.

  29. Ben says:

Im not blaming you for anything. I’m bemoaning your own delusion that there is a light at the end of this tunnel before 2024. I worry the re-election will be the end of people who think this country is capable of learning a lesson.
It isn’t just Delaware. It is the whole party. How much support is the DCCC giving to the special elections…. correction, how much support were they giving BEFORE getting dragged over the coals for not giving any support?
Biden is, so far, the one nationally known, Democrat (who isnt Sanders) to call out how bad a candidate Clinton was. .. no WAY he successfully runs in 2020. That will be too easy for the Dump crowd.
Yes, things changed. We fully turned into Idiocracy. But not the Dems. R’s didnt either. What possible reason, given their base… who still dreams every night of taking Dumps hot load all over their faces…. will the R’s in congress have for removing the Orange terror form office? There isnt one. If the DNC runs anyone other than Kerry 2.0, I’ll take it all back, but we’re looking at something like Schumer/Booker 2020.
But don’t believe me, you said it. “(there’s no such thing as “proof” about the future)” You are right. All we can go on is history and patterns. Given that, you are just making up happy endings that wont come.

  30. chris says:

John Carney just needs to answer one question. How is repealing the estate tax which only benefits multi- millionaires SHERED SACRIFICE ???

  31. alby says:

@chris: It’s a horse trade for Republican votes, apparently. And if it only brings in $10 million a year, it’s worth trading for the higher tax brackets everyone here claims to want, should that turn out to be the deal.

Republicans know taxes have to go up. But they just can’t go to their voters with nothing but their dicks in their hands. So now they can tell them, “Well, at least we got rid of the inheritance tax,” which is probably a big deal to some of the SuxCo upper crust.

  32. alby says:

@ben: There’s a strong possibility of light at the end of the tunnel as soon as 2018, even sooner if you consider charges against members of the administration “light.”

I’ve been doing this for a long time. There’s a lot of water behind that dam, and no evidence at all of your and Jason’s claim that it will all be ignored. By his voters, maybe, and by Republicans with their fingers in their ears, but certainly not by the media.

Did you see the report of the ratings slippage at Fox? There is very little evidence for the Ben/Jason position beyond your own guts. I respect your suspicions, and it’s not impossible you’re right. But it’s not probable, and I’m more at REV’s position. I have been out on the streets many times now, and it’s still regular folks who are marching. Should the GOP health don’t-care plan go through, the march on Washington will make the Women’s March look like, well, an opening act.

  33. Rusty Dils says:

Capitalism, it’s what’s for dinner. The sooner you liberals get used to it the better off you will be. The country is re embracing Capitalism, and running away from Socialism faster than Sherman through Georgia.

  34. Jason330 says:

Is it me, or do the marks being conned by Trump sound more desperate by the day ?

  35. RE Vanella says:

Politics ebbs & flows. One day up, the next down. Rubes however are always rubes.

  36. alby says:

“The country is re embracing Capitalism, and running away from Socialism”

Evidence for this absurd statement is lacking.

Notice, however, that dumb rubes always fail to make any distinction between “capitalism” and “greed.”

  37. RE Vanella says:

Don’t even bother. It’s hack sloganeering.
