‘Bulo’s Fave Tunes: February, 2017

Filed in Arts and Entertainment by on February 28, 2017 0 Comments

I don’t know if the music is just better so far this year or if I’m getting better at finding it, but I found a lot of great music this month.  Lotsa diversity as well.  Hope you like these tunes: For some reason, I just never got Father John Misty. Until now.   This one […]

Conservatives In Revolt Against GOP Draft ACA Replacement

We all know how this ends:

1) Paul Ryan will cave in to the GOP “hardliners” who want to repeal the ACA outright without a replacement in place.

2) Millions of people will be screwed in the process,

3) At their moment of maximum electoral peril Democrats will bail the GOP out by hacking together some abysmal “compromise” and

4) The GOP will salvage a win at the ballot box by claiming that the entire problem was created by Obama and the Democrats.

How A Potential Boondoggle Became a Full-Fledged Boondoggle

Filed in Delaware, Featured by on February 28, 2017 5 Comments

The scheme was so crazy that it might well have been dreamt up by a tiny group of cronies downing a few libations at Crabby Dick’s in Delaware City. In fact, it was.  Two of those cronies being then-drinking buddies Nicole Poore (more on her appearing in DL very soon) and Valerie Longhurst, along with […]

Carper and Coons both voted to confirm Trump’s money launderer

Carper and Coons both voted to confirm Trump’s money launderer

Your representatives in the US Senate just blithly voted to confirm Wilbur Ross as secretary of commerce despite the fact that Ross appears to have recently been involved with laundering hundreds of millions of Putin’s money through a Cyprus bank that caters to wealthy Russians. Ross and his Cypriot bank is also connected to a $100 million cash payment to Trump for a distressed Florida estate the Republican President purchased at auction for $40 million two years ago.

That wealthy Russians use Trump to launder money is one thing. Cheaters are going to cheat. But that Carper and Coons care so little about their “advise and consent” role in the Senate is truly disgusting.

Waiting for FDR

Waiting for FDR

So while Delaware waits for Governor Carney to act like a Democrat (hint, it’s not going to happen), Chief Justice Leo Strine testified yesterday asking the Bond Committee to raise the gasoline tax. As much as I would like to see the gasoline tax raised, they only way I would support it is if income taxes on the richest is raised as well. A gas tax would be a burden on the working class and poor in Delaware. If they need to pony up some more money than the folks in 19807 need to pay as well.

El Somnambulo Overthinks It All For You: Special Election Edition

Filed in Delaware, Featured by on February 27, 2017 22 Comments

1. Biggest Surprise: The turnout.  While I haven’t gone back to check, there is no way that any previous Special Election turnout rivaled this one. There are 35,673 registered voters in SD 10.  12,580 cast ballots. That’s over 35% of eligible voters.  This should cause real concern for R’s going forward.  When mobilized, there are […]
