Another Bomb Threat at JCC

Filed in Delaware by on February 27, 2017

Don’t worry, nothing to see here, say Republicans. Is this the 3rd bomb threat at the JCC? Compounded with the recent desecration of the Jewish cemetery in Philadelphia, things are getting bad. One day Charlie Copeland and other Delaware Republicans will have to answer for this.

I would never threaten violence against people on a public forum or blog…..
un-related, isnt Inglorious Basterds a great movie/ premise?

  2. 2 cents says:

@ Nemski “One day Charlie Copeland and other Delaware Republicans will have to answer for this.”

    Wow, pointing the finger!

  3. Ben says:

damn right. The republican president, who employs anti-Semites in his White House, has complained more loudly about his daughter losing a business deal, than he has decried the violence carried out in his name. Copeland is a Drumpite until he declares he isnt.
Also, everyone notice how 2-cents was more upset about Copeland getting called out than he (most likely he, Nazis usually are) is about the act of terrorism? Very telling.

  4. Alby says:

@2 cents: See, it’s like this: If Black Lives Matter shouldn’t speak up for victims of police violence, if Barack Obama shouldn’t say if he had a son he’d look like Trayvon Martin — remember how those examples are always cited on the right as irresponsible speech? — then Trump shouldn’t send these obvious messages on race and religion.

Same standard for both. If you don’t like the standard, don’t apply it when it suits you.

I don’t blame the speakers in either case. I think these people, like Trump himself, are signs of the times. Ugly times make ugly people do ugly things.

  5. fightingbluehen says:

You do know that Trump’s daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren are Jewish, right?

  6. Ben says:

And Hitler had Jewish ancestry. What is your point, Fascist Blue Hen?

Another Bannonite who failed to condemn the threats, but instead chose to defend his president. (BTW, Nazi, your president’s name was not mentioned in this OP, but you still felt the need to bring him up. Very telling.)

  7. fightingbluehen says:

You’re unhinged, dude. You’ve lost it….I guess this is the new DL.

  8. pandora says:

He’s not unhinged. He’s afraid for his safety and the safety of those he loves. Something you refuse to understand.

  9. mouse says:

The only thing these right wingers love is the validation of their tribal bigotry

  10. Sara W says:

“You do know that Trump’s daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren are Jewish, right?”

Yeah, I know it. I’m not so sure Trump does. You do realize that the anti-Semitic stuff doesn’t come from Trump personally but from Bannon and Miller, right?

  11. 2 cents says:

@Nemski I think this is BS. NO ONE should have to live in fear; for their race, religion, sexual orientation, NOTHING. That is what people have died for, defending our freedoms!
You point the fingers at Copeland/Republicans, will have to answer for this. If you know who did it then by all means report it! Who the frig, knows what lowlife would think about doing this crap!

@ Ben. I’m no Nazis. That is the lowest form you could call someone. But, you like to call people names that don’t agree with you. So grow up and get out of the grade school mentality!

Nemski made a blanket statement, that is Copeland
Who ever this is and it could be anyone, I hope they get caught and are sentenced to the fullest extent of the law!

  12. nemski says:

@ 2 cents: Copeland and Delaware Republicans are fine with everything going on in Washington. They need to speak out. They’re not. Simple.

  13. RE Vanella says:

    2cents and FBH are confused.

The idea that because Jared Kushner is an Orthodox Jew that this new wave of anti-Semitic terrorism has no connection to the political environment seems like unnecessary apologia. (I have a black friend!) Pretending it’s all a coincidence is very cute. Sonderkommandos were also mostly Jews.

Republicans don’t get to ignore the nasty rhetoric anymore. They supported it and still do and will be held to account. We’re suppose to give Copeland the benefit of the doubt? He didn’t know what was part of the package?

ICE is pulling people off the street. CBP is checking papers on domestic flights. Jewish cemeteries are being desecrated and community centers threatened. An engineer from India was mistaken for an Iranian and assassinated in Kansas. And you turds want to defend supporters of the administration that brought us here! And Ben is unhinged?

Vile apologists. Nobody is saying Copeland is an anti-Semite or violent. What Nemski wrote is that Copeland, and anyone who public supported this administration, has to answer for why it was OK to ignore the racism and proto-fascism simply to win an election. (Reread this sentence if you’re still unclear.)

See you don’t get to ignore it now. You implicated. And all your defensiveness and deflection aren’t going to save you. Wagons have been hitched and history will judge. Fascist scum.

  14. 2 cents says:

@ Vanilla This has been happening for a long time…..TOO LONG.

I’m a Republican, but I did not vote for Trump. There are issues i agree with on both sides!
But, I take issue with putting everyone in a group and the name calling. Facist scum, etc. It’s BS, if you can’t have an adult discussion, then don’t!

But, I guess that is why we all use pseudonyms. Would would not talk like this at a public event, maybe I’m giving you too much credit. Good Day!

  15. Ben says:

I dont call people Nazis who disagree with me. I call people Nazis who get more upset and defensive over being called a name than they do over overt acts of Nazism. Your instant reaction was to defend a party that is lead by a racist. You’re fascist scum.
You defended the party of the Klan BEFORE you condemned the act.. that in fact, my piggy little snowflake, makes you a Nazi apologist… which is even worse. At least have the guts to go full-on with your beliefs.
I dont tolerate Nazis, their sympathizers, viruses or anything else that is a threat to my life. The Klan and every other Neo-Nazi organization endorsed the president. Explain that, snowflake.

  16. Ben says:

Until the Republican party comes out against this, they might as well be doing it themselves.
Also, I cant believe the “strong party’ is so fucking fragile that we have to explain and cajole that “republican” means ‘elected republican officials” and not YOU. I dont give 2-shits about you. You’re less than nothing compared to whats happening to my (and every other minority) people.
You’re a white man (probably goy), I’m sure, Why else would you assume that everything in the world centers around you?

  17. RE Vanella says:

Not all of us do. I don’t use a pseudonym. I am RE Vanella in real life. I actually stand by what I write.

The verbal and written contortions people go through to try to equivocate and apologize is fascinating. Funny I don’t remember Jewish cemeteries being vandalized this often until recently.

If calling people fascist scum hurts your feelings, I don’t care. I don’t know what else to call it. Calling it by its name feels very adult to me.

  18. ben says:

OH, never mind, guys. President pig-fucker just said it is all the Jew’s fault.

As long as sniveling rats want to some excuse this or minimize it I’ll continue, under my own name here and in public, to employ the phrase fascist scum.

  20. Alby says:

I use the pseudonym because my real name is so easy to misspell, but I’d be happy to call you a Nazi to your face if you really insist.

  21. 2 cents says:

    Give up complaining…………….focus on gratitude.

Time to give up the negativity of this blog! Hope you all find peace, in your own way!

  22. liberalgeek says:

Those are all aphorisms that lost to “Arbeit Macht Frei”

  23. Ben says:

But not, apparently, give up supporting fascism.

2 cents wants us to forgive and understand Nazis.

  24. Alby says:

@Ben: Ask yourself why people like 2cents feel a need to visit a liberal blog to espouse their views. Any ideas?

Here’s a hint: His first comment was to chastise us for “pointing fingers” at Der Pumpkinfuhrer. His last was to condemn us for “negativity.”

    This coming from a conservative.

  25. RE Vanella says:

Now we get the Dalai Lama routine. I’m content and at peace with my contrarian negativity. Living in a fantasy world and keeping up all those pretenses and phony platitudes seems stressful and exhausting. We live on earth. But on the actual nonsense you wrote…

I think you mean pessimism in line two, not permission.
There is no divine providence. That’s made up.
There is absolutely nothing petty about what we’re doing.
Praying is worthless and is simply talking to yourself.
Trust me, I will never ever give up.

There is no god and religion poisons everything, especially your capacity for rational thought.

  26. Ben says:

Alby, I can only imagine it is his because his Sky-dad forbids him from scratching his masochistic itch through BDSM. Shame, really. It’s a lot more fun than being called a fascist pig-fucker by people smarter than you.

  27. Alby says:

@Ben: Do you think that when the Tea Parties were raging, 2cents was telling them all to sit down, shut up and be civil? I don’t think so either.

  28. Ben says:

Naw, it was probably blathering on about the Second Amendment and adorning itself with teabags.

  29. RE Vanella says:

While we get mystical nonsense from some here I urge you all to think very deeply about this. Stand against it or feel the shame of history.

In the 1930s German prosecutors were required to notify the Ministry of Justice of all Jewish crimes so the information could be made public for propaganda purposes.
