What have you done to resist Trump today? Call Cowardly Coons Edition

Filed in National by on January 31, 2017

If you haven’t called Coons and demanded that he show some spine, do so now.   An irate call telling him to withhold consent and slow down this lawlessness White House is mandatory.

Coons Wilmington:  (302) 573-6345

You: There’s no reason that the Senate should be conducting business as usual when Trump is blatantly violating the Constitutiuon.  I expect Senator Coons to act to uphold our values by committing to withhold consent on Senate business and use the filibuster to stop other legislation and Supreamcourt nominations.

Here’s the Daily Kos diary that gives Coons a drubbing. It includes an interesting suggestion: Also call Lisa Blunt Rochester’s office and tell them that you’ll contribute to her primary campaign against Coons.

  2. We don’t have a whole lot to go on when it comes to LBR.

Ready to support a progressive challenger to Carper in 2018 and Coons in 2020.

Being endorsed by PDD is not nearly enough for me, to put it mildly. Let’s see what she says and does first.

  3. Alby says:

Hey, I didn’t endorse the idea, just wanted people who don’t click links to know it was there.

  4. mediawatch says:

Everything I’ve heard (directly) from LBR and those who know her well makes pretty clear that while she may not look like Carper/Coons/Carney, her voting pattern is not likely to differ significantly from theirs.

  5. Ben says:

Very unresponsive. Coons is now firmly in camp bannon. He must be defeated.

  6. And it’s almost as if his staffers resent having to deal with his constituents.

Whatever you do when you call, INSIST that they take down your name and contact information. Let them know that you won’t be blown off.

  7. One thing everyone can do to resist Trump is to subscribe to newspapers and sites trying to commit journalism. We see the need for a free press more and more every day.

If you’re just using up your free monthly articles, that’s not enough. Subscribe.

Gillian Welch wrote a great song about this, and my heroes the Holmes Brothers created their version of it:

I have to admit I have done nothing to resist Trump today. But on the plus side, I have no plans to resist Trump at any time in the near future either!
