SD 10 Update: It’s Getting Serious, Folks

Filed in Delaware by on January 27, 2017

Sources tell us Mike Pence is coming to town to stump for John Marino in SD 10. Also, we are hearing the Marino will do TV spots. Given the Senate Republican debacle of not confirming John Carney’s Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control nomination because, you know, Shawn Garvin is experienced, which party that controls the Delaware Senate is important to our daily lives.

Now more than ever we need to get out and support Stephanie Hansen.  There is a breakfast fundraiser for Stephanie Hansen, Democratic nominee for Delaware’s 10th State Senate seat, on Saturday, January 28th.  $25 – suggested donation
Contact Erik Raser-Schramm at erikjschramm@gmail.com for more information. (Facebook link)

Thanks LG, I’ll add it to the post too.

  2. RE Vanella says:

I hope Pence comes. Let’s get a big group together and protest the shit out of it. Make a mockery of it.

  3. puck says:

I hope Joe Biden shows up in SD10. Hell, maybe even Obama.

And where the f**k is Carney?

  4. I hope Pence comes as well. I’ll be there to protest. Betcha lotsa folks will do the same.

  5. mediawatch says:

Carney is waiting to congratulate the winner.

  6. bamboozer says:

If there is a protest for Pence please post it.

  7. Alby says:

Does anyone really think Harris McDowell and David McBride are the right Democrats to lead us into battle with a re-energized Republican Party?

  8. nemski says:

You mean other than McDowell and McBride?

  9. Alby says:

    ? Don’t understand the question.

  10. nemski says:

Alby, no I don’t think that McDowell and McBride are right to lead the party. The only other person that might think that they are good leaders would be Carney.

  11. Alby says:

Oh, I see. Duh. No coffee yet.

Protests in Philly yesterday were invigorating and, unlike in DC, witnessed by lots of people who weren’t actively marching. I was encouraged by the number of “normal,” meaning non-activist people, vs. the perennial leftists.

We need lots of regular folks at these events. If the Trumpkins see professional leftists, they dismiss them. When they see Grandma marching with a sign, they think twice.

  12. Ben says:

I called Carney’s office asking to see more support for Hansen. Staffer testily told me he IS supporting Hansen. I reiterated that I look forward to seeing even more support. Calling again today.

  13. SussexAonon says:

    Time to release TheBiden.

  14. Josh W says:

I guess I’ll add my voice to the call for Biden to show up. And not just for a rally; he should be out there pounding pavement and knocking doors with us regular folks.

  15. Alby says:

My suggestion: When we find out when and where Pence will appear, we hold an opposition rally with Stephanie Hansen as the keynote speaker. Or Biden, if he’ll show. When’s the last time he campaigned actively for a state legislative seat?

  16. donviti says:

When Pence comes to town, will BHL go on a march?

  17. Alby says:

Let’s find out. If we don’t hold one, we’ll never know.
