More Markell Cronyism

Filed in Delaware by on January 13, 2017

First was Blevins appointment and there is also Secretary of Finance Tom Cook becoming the new director of the Delaware River and Bay Authority as reported by Matt Bittle at Delaware State News.

… while the Delaware River and Bay Authority said it has hired outgoing Secretary of Finance Tom Cook as its new director.

[snip]

Mr. Cook has been the secretary of finance since 2009 but will leave soon as a new administration begins this month.

And what’s worse, Markell has me agreeing with State Senator Greg Lavelle in regards to Blevins, “We did a national search and we came right back to someone here who just lost an election?”

Fucking Jack Markell.

    Get real, Nemski.
    There are two ways to fill this job: with a Markell hack or with a Christie crony. Which would you prefer?
    Thank heavens DRBA didn’t do a national search. Then Patti Blevins might have had her choice of two jobs.

    There is a concerted campaign afoot to make Democrats look bad. That campaign is being run by Democrats.

    @Jason,
    The only solution is the Trumpian response:
    It’s FAKE NEWS!
    Hey, it could be the Russians, the Chinese, or some 400-pound guy sitting in his office in New Jersey who’s putting this stuff out.

  4. Tom Cook. His mom was a big deal Senator in Dover. So, for the last twenty years, he has had his choice of plum jobs. Now he’s gotten what generally is considered the biggest patronage payoff possible. Although Mark Brainard might give him a run for his money…

    But, hey, he was a team player, and he got rewarded for it.

    Just remember that ‘being a team player’ in Delaware means leaving both your brain and your conscience at the door.
