Governor Markell’s Calendar, January 4, 2017

Today, Governor Markell will announce the LEED certification of the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Richardson and Robbins building in a ceremony at 10:15 am at the Richardson & Robbins Building, 89 Kings Highway, Dover, DE 19901.

The certification is based on a range of waste reduction and energy efficiency-related programs and environmentally-friendly practices instituted over the past four years. The project represents an especially significant achievement for a 19th century building that most recently underwent a major modernization more than 30 years ago, and the effort provides a template for other state buildings to achieve similar savings and improvements.

Also attending will be DNREC Secretary David Small, Representatives from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Division of Facilities Management and Government Support Services, DNREC staff, and Representatives from the Delaware Valley Green Building Council.
