Jason330 and Donviti’s Podcast Season 14 Episode 1

Filed in National by on December 12, 2016

The sound quality on this is beyond terrible. It is really unforgivable.

…so I’ll go long in the show notes and work on cleaning up the sound for next time.

Show Notes:

– The Eagles… Donviti thinks he will allow his child to start dropping the F-bomb during an Eagles game sometime in the future. I thought they should have saved Carson Wentz by not playing him for the first 5 games. I backed off that position when they went 3-0, but now I’m back to thinking that playing a rookie quarterback too early only teaches them how to lose with dignity.

– How are you surviving the Trump Years? Speaking of learning how to lose with dignity, how ’bout those Democrats? We aren’t doing ourselves any favors as a party pretending we don’t suck at national elections. How many times do we have to be flat wrong about what gets people out to vote until we learn our lesson? I point to this Kos Diary as one that demands reading (h/t El Som), and think that it makes a good case for joining the Green Party.

– Where have you been? …is a regular segment where we discuss where we’ve been. Donviti has been to a haircuttery and the movie “Dr. Strange” which (apparently is a good movie in spite of the fact that it stars Bennedict Cummberbach). I have been to a freind’s house where I expereinced a very mind-blowing virtual reality demo. The technology is amazing, but is society ready for it?

I view this ongoing podcast series like you would Mad Men. We’ve had several breaks of varying lengths, but all for good reason. The show has improved since our first show almost a decade ago. The quality still has not. I think a nightly radio show is the next logical step

  2. Benedict Cumberbatch (sp?) is da bomb!

  3. RE Vanella says:

You guys still watch the NFL?

  4. donviti says:

I watched Vardy and Leicester City destroy Man City saturday…but I don’t think the 3 people listening to this thing really care…

  5. RE Vanella says:

Probably overestimating the audience size. 🙂

Jokes aside, Vardy really came to life, finally. Unfortunately it looks like Arsenal and Chelsea are going to make this a horse race from Christmas till May. Liverpool, Spurs, United and City do not appear to have to goods I’m afraid.

  6. fightingbluehen says:

Yeah, Vardy’s return to form will hopefully keep Leicester out of relegation. I wonder if he’s rethinking Wenger’s £120k a week offer…..Champions League football is overrated anyway, right.

  7. RE Vanella says:

Considering the knock-out draw, my fellow hen, the Foxes of Leicestershire may advance further than Arsène’s XI in Europe. Gunners drew Bayern… again. Leicester draw La Liga player Sevilla. He who laughs last, or proceeds to the quarterfinals, laughs best.

  8. fightingbluehen says:

Any thoughts on whether Swansea will sack Bob Bradley if they have a bad game tomorrow against West Brom? They are only on their fourth manager for the calendar year….Apparently some people don’t like his New Jersey accent.

  9. RE Vanella says:

I’ve been pulling for Bradley so hard (gotta support the Yanks), but it doesn’t look good, no. However, at this point they might as well let him try to keep the Swans up. They put in a solid home effort v Sunderland after being embarrassed by Spurs. That’s positive.

I was surprised they didn’t go for Giggs as boss. Welchman to Wales seemed like a good fit. He was screwed at United not once or twice but thrice!
