A positive Bethany Hall Long piece, an anti-Gordon and pro-Meyer piece from Matt Meyer, and an anti-Koch Brothers issue ad on money in politics from the Townsend campaign.

Lot’s of direct mail pieces this year. Of these, I’ve only seen the BHL one in my mailbox.

  2. Mitch Crane says:

Down here in Sussex we receive very frequent mailings from Congressional candidates Townsend and Barney; Lt Governor candidates Hall-Long, Poppiti and McGuiness, and from Insurance Commissioner candidate Navarro. Barney, Lisa Rochester and Micheal Miller are on cable. The others not yet. I expect 8,000 Sussex Democrats will vote in the Primary.

The Matt Meyer piece was very effective I thought. The rest of the mail has been pretty cookie cutter blah blah, glossy photos saying same old same old.

In my household, I have 1 Super voting male Dem and 3 Super voting female Dems… I’ve received a TON of Bryan lit, some BHL lit, Meyer lit (I would say a normal amount), I think 1 LBR piece addressed to the household… and I’ve seen grainy (ok maybe that’s the non-HD factor) commercials for LBR

And three door knocks by Bryan’s camp… 2 by vols (1 we weren’t home, 1 was this Tuesday) and 1 by the candidate himself.

FWIW… The door knocks are what have stuck with the voters in my household (I already knew who I was voting for despite mail, knocks, commercials… I wasn’t persuadable) The mail pieces are coming in second… the commercials aren’t saturated enough to even be a ping on the radar at this point (and my dad actually watches those channels more than ABC/NBC/CBS etc.)

I know this is a minor thing… but I’m impressed with Townsend’s lit/mail house. I’m a multi-generational household that has two last names living in it… And 9 times out of 10 lit is either addressed to just my last name (the majority in the house) or we get two of the same pieces, my last name and my grandmothers… Townsends team addresses 1 piece with both her last name and mine… I know it’s small, and it has no bearing on anything, but I appreciate the detail.

  5. Delaware Dem says:

Retail politics is the key in DE. In fact, we expect it.

  6. Jason330 says:

My door remains unkocked by LG or USRep candidates/volunteers.

  7. Prop Joe says:

I’ve been able to restock my cat litter liner with the seven Sean Barney mail pieces I received in span of five days…

  8. mikem2784 says:

No door knocks that I’ve heard of in Milford. All mail from Barney, Townsend, and a couple by BHL and Navarro.

  9. chris says:

Yes, my parakeets love to ‘drop’ on the Barney mail pieces I line their cage with. A fresh one every other day. Splat!!

  10. AQC says:

Surprisingly, to me, I’ve received no mailers and I live in the city. You would think I’d get something from the 32 mayoral candidates!

  11. I’m getting plenty of McGuiness pieces and most of the Townsend lit. Got the BHL and Meyer pieces. Clearly the Meyer piece is a hybrid of two pieces, a positive and negative piece, which is what you do when you’re trying to best utilize your resources. I wish he’d have gotten going a little earlier, but I like what he’s doing.

This LG race is ridiculous. They’re gonna do all this stuff as LG? No, they’re not. They’ll preside over the Senate and chair the Board of Pardons. That’s it. Claiming otherwise is disingenuous and counts on the ignorance of the voters. Well, they’ve got THAT right.

Nothing from LBR or Barney, but maybe they’ve removed my name from their mailing lists.
