Top 10 Reasons Trump Might Actually Quit

Filed in National by on August 4, 2016

From least important to most, these are the ten reasons why Trump quitting is plausible.

10) He can reasonably claim health problems. His medical records are sketchy at best and the quack doctor who said that he’d be the healthiest president ever can easily be thrown under the bus.

9) He watches, and takes ques, from Fox News. If Fox News bails once and for all, he will know it and will have to react to it.

8) The Senate appears ready to investigate his ties to Russia.

7) His wife was an illegal immigrant.

6) His businesses are off 17 to 20% How long can he sustain that kind of drop in revenue? Especially since…

5) He can’t self-fiance his campaign. He isn’t as wealthy as he says he is, and money from donors is dying up.

4) His pre-2010 taxes are not subject to being audited. So he is lying about why he isn’t releasing them.

3) He hates being viewed as a loser. He’d rather quit (and blame the liberal media) than lose to Clinton.

2) He was never really running a serious campaign in the first place.

And if all of that does not convince him to quit, one person might…

1) He listens to Ivanka.

Of all his advisors, he appears to listen to Ivanka. She certainly seems smart enough to know when the jig is good and truly up. When the kids are sure that the gravy train is imperiled, they may be the ones to pull the plug.

Good logical reasoning, but this clown lives in his own reality. Logic won’t matter.

  2. Jason330 says:

I just read that Shawn Hannity is officially blaming Trumps loss on treacherous “establishment Republicans” That is probably enough to keep Trump in this. He has his rationalizations all lined up for a loss.

What is the process for selecting a replacement candidate in this situation?
No matter what reason is given, his supporters will claim the corrupt party elitists took him out.
Who would take the reigns? Romney? Does Pence stay? Or does the new candidate get to pick his running mate?
I think he should stay and ride that POS into the ground. This ain’t Walmart, you can’t just bring him back and present a receipt and pull a new one out of the back.

In a somewhat related note, Hans Reigle is sticking with Trump. Sean Barney called for Hans to retract his endorsement and went full Benghazi on Facebook.

Basically, it has to be Trump that drops out. If he does, it has to be before early September and then the RNC will pick a new candidate.

  5. kavips says:

What kind of party elects a person who quits once he’s the nominee?

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY…. HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA,………..

Never in my lifetime did this scenario ever even occur to us to occur… It goes to show just what horrible people make up the Republican party of today… Horrible, horrible, horrible people….

Hello… Why are you still members………….?

  6. Liberal Elite says:

@k “What kind of party elects a person who quits once he’s the nominee?”

Change “he’s” to “she’s” and “nominee” to “governor”, and you get…

    … Sarah Palin

  7. SussexAnon says:

Would this RNC selection process be some smoke filled backroom deal? Caucus?

  8. Liberal Elite says:

@SA “Would this RNC selection process be some smoke filled backroom deal? Caucus?”

Well, it would be a big back room. Three delegates from each state. Each state delegation voting for all convention delegates from that state.

This is probably the most dangerous scenario for Hillary. Having a nominee from one of the 18 losers (e.g. Cruz) would lead to a sure loss, but choosing a nominee like Colin Powell could reset everything…

  9. SussexAnon says:

Since convention delegates are comprised mostly of Trump supporters, I highly doubt they would make a wise, competitive, reasonable choice.

  10. Dave says:

Besides, Powell would not run and there is simply no one else that has the same gravitas. Also Powell voted for Obama twice.

  11. Liberal Elite says:

@D “Besides, Powell would not run and there is simply no one else that has the same gravitas.”

He wouldn’t need to run. There’s no time for another primary campaign. The replacement would be drafted.

“Also Powell voted for Obama twice.”

…but he never voted for Hillary.

@Jason: Speaking of Hannity, did you see what happened last night after WSJ’s Brett Stephens called him “Fox’s dumbest anchor”?
