Hillary Clinton’s Tampa Rally

Filed in National by on July 22, 2016

Since it is widely expected that the VP announcement will be today, perhaps this is the event where it will happen. I have no idea, of course, but this rally is being live-streamed (starts at 4:30 EDT) so if you want to see it as it happens, here you go:

Politicians usually don’t make news on a Friday evening. At least not on purpose.

  2. cassandra_m says:

Agreed, but the rumor mill consensus is that today is the day, so I posted it up just in case.

  3. pandora says:

Whatever you do, do NOT read the live chat next to the live stream. Turn it off. You’ll need a shower.

  4. nemski says:

    I see she’s on time. 🙂

  5. nemski says:

BTW, did Hillary learn anything from Obama. This is the most boring live feed ever.

  6. cassandra_m says:

OK so while we’re waiting, how about Carpool Karaoke with Michele Obama:

  7. nemski says:

Thanks for posting that. I hadn’t seen it yet.

  8. pandora says:

    And it’s on!

  9. puck says:

Hillary walked on to an instrumental cover of “Who Can It Be Now?”

  10. pandora says:

Really? I thought it was Katy Perry’s Fight song.

Or are you kidding. I’m missing jokes today.

  11. nemski says:

I think the had two songs: one on the feed and Katy Perry at the rally.

  12. puck says:

I heard Katy cut off just before the other music started. Maybe it was on the feed.

  13. nemski says:

    Oh, for fuck’s sake.

  14. pandora says:

    No VP announcement.

  15. Liberal Elite says:

    No VP announced.

    …and that’s good news.

  16. nemski says:

I can’t believe I am about to say this …. but maybe Delaware Dem was right.

  17. pandora says:

Look at it this way… that was almost two hours Trump was denied air-time.

  18. Brian says:

You know, it was…nice to hear something that wasn’t about fear or cowardice.

  19. Maybe she decided to hold off b/c of the Munich attacks since the American news media feels compelled to treat each of these as if they happened right here. Endless hours of coverage.

  20. ben says:

So she waits till Monday when Kaine is back from Boston.

  21. Delaware Dem says:

Guys, her campaign is brilliant. She lulled us all into watching her speech, which was a great rebuttal of Trump. Turns out Trump is not the only good political marketer here.

  22. Turned on MSNBC to see what they were saying. They’re all saying it’s Kaine. Andrea Mitchell, Chuck Todd. Oh, and Ed Rendell. At which point I turned off MSNBC. Something about Rendell makes my skin crawl.
