2020 Campaign Theme: Delaware would be much better off if Beau had been governor.

  2. puck says:

Is it safe to say… Beau was by all accounts a nice guy and a good family man, but a decidedly uninspiring politician? Remember when politicians tried to claim the mantle of actual icons like FDR, JFK, HST? Or even Reagan for gods’ sake.

  3. Gee, I wonder if Carney would have fought against the Highmark/Blue Cross merger like Beau did.

Actually, I don’t. With Beau, we would have had at least a hint of progressivism. With Carney, ain’t happenin’.

  4. chris says:

If Carney were smart, he’d put together a list of ten positive goals/ steps he’s going to do as Governor to make Delaware better and stronger…instead, it will be the same incrementalism and ‘kicking the can’ we have had in this state’s decline. I won’t hold my breath.

  5. Jason330 says:

I’m almost dreading the release of the actual campaign platform. 1) keeping Delaware “competitive” by reducing taxes on corporations. 2) Unleashing the hiring power of the wealthy reducing their taxes. 3) Starving public schools into shape. 4) etc.

  6. anonymous says:

According to the aged “announcement” on his site, he won’t run an active campaign until “next year.” Maybe he still means that literally.

  7. mouse says:

And the republicans will run some nut cases against him talking about guns, muslims, Mexicans and religion of course. I hate having to vote for a Democrat like Carney just beacause the alternative is unthinkable

  8. mouse says:

I would vote for a Republican like Bill Lee over Carney. Those days are gone though
